Siler done for year with Achilles' tear: Chiefs LB Brandon Siler, who signed with the team on Aug. 1, had surgery to repair a torn Achilles' tendon after suffering the injury during the week. His agent, David Canter, confirmed the injury in a text message to The Associated Press on Wednesday. "We're both beside ourselves upset," Canter said. Siler was competing for the middle linebacker spot alongside Derrick Johnson, but his season is over before it started. (Updated 08/24/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Siler was hindered by injuries in 2010, managing 44 tackles, one sack and an interception while filling in as a starter on occasion for the Chargers. It looks as if he will have to wait another year to get the chance to impress on his new team. Fantasy owners should obviously not consider Siler to be an option of any kind until he heals.
