|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(12/19/14) The Patriots listed the following players as questionable for Week 16’s game at the New York Jets: Danny Aiken (finger), Kyle Arrington (hamstring), LeGarrette Blount (shoulder), Dan Connolly (knee), Julian Edelman (concussion), Cameron Fleming (ankle), Dont'a Hightower (shoulder), Chandler Jones (hip), Brandon LaFell (shoulder), Rob Ninkovich (heel), Shane Vereen (ankle) and Chris White (ankle).
Quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) was the only player listed as probable. The Patriots did not have any players listed as out or doubtful.
The Patriots are 10 1/2-point favorites over the Jets.
Patriots standouts don't stand out
|by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer|
|(9/21/14) Patriots defensive linemen Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich, who are normally among their top performers defensively, didn't do much statistically Week 3 against Oakland. Jones had two tackles, including one solo, and Ninkovich had six tackles, including two solo.
Ninkovich's six tackles were actually a season high, but he still has only one sack this season. Jones has two.
Patriots pass rush fails to show up in opening loss
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(9/8/14) The Patriots had little success getting after the quarterback in Week 1 against the Dolphins, as Rob Ninkovich and Chandler Jones combined for no sacks in the 33-20 loss Sunday.
Jones had four solo tackles in the game, while Ninkovich had five. Neither player recorded a quarterback hit in the game, as the team's pass rush was basically nonexistent.
Rob Ninkovich to benefit from improved secondary
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
|(4/9/14) Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich, who had eight sacks last season, could have a bigger year thanks to the additions of cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner. If the secondary covers receivers longer, Ninkovich can get to the quarterback more often.
"I’m happy to have some of the new guys coming in, and we’ve got the best corner in the league coming in, so that’s always a good thing for a defensive end like myself," Ninkovich told the Boston Herald. "Just give me a little more time, I’ll be happy to use that."
|Rob Ninkovich had a standout season in 2013, and we expect him to play well again this year. He had eight sacks with a career-high 91 total tackles (42 solo) to go with two fumble recoveries. He now has eight sacks in each of the past two seasons, and he's become a solid defensive lineman option in all IDP leagues. Plan on drafting Ninkovich with a mid-round pick as a No. 2 DL, and hopefully he can continue to get at least eight sacks with a healthy amount of tackles.
