|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(2/20/15) Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said Thursday that the team will not use the franchise tag this offseason, U-T San Diego reports.
Were the team to use the tag, cornerback Brandon Flowers stands out as the most likely player to receive the designation. He graded as the 15th best cornerback out of 108 players, per Pro Football Focus, and the Chargers will likely prioritze working out a deal to bring him back in 2015.

Chargers list inactives for Week 8
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(10/23/14) The Chargers have made CB Steve Williams, RB Ryan Mathews, CB Brandon Flowers, RB Donald Brown, LB Manti Te'o, LB Jeremiah Attaochu and DE Cordarro Law inactive Week 8 against the Broncos.
Mathews, Flowers, Brown and Te'o had all been ruled out prior to Thursday, so the moves shouldn't come as a surprise. Attaochu was considered doubtful, while Williams was questionable. Law was not listed on the injury report coming into the contest.
|Brandon Flowers is a low-end defensive back in IDP leagues, and he's only worth a late-round pick in deep formats on Draft Day. Flowers does have 17 interceptions and three defensive touchdowns in six seasons, but he set a career-high in tackles in 2013 with just 68. Unless he's creating a significant amount of turnovers then his upside is limited. We would use Flowers as more of a bye-week replacement in IDP leagues this season.
