Matt Cassel started Sunday's game against the Bengals before being replaced after halftime by Brady Quinn, who returned to action Week 11 after missing two games with a concussion. |

| (11/18/12) The Chiefs benched quarterback Matt Cassel during halftime of Sunday's game against the Bengals in Week 11. When Kansas City came out for its first drive of the third quarter, Brady Quinn was the starter. Cassel finished the first half with 8 of 16 completions for 93 yards and one carry for no yards. "When I felt like I needed to make a change, I made the change to Quinn," coach Romeo Crennel said. "So, Quinn got into the game in the second half, and then after this I will evaluate it and I will let you know what I am going to do next week.” |

| (11/13/12) Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel received the start again in Week 10 against the Steelers but did not have an efficient performance. He completed 11 of 26 passes for 154 yards and an interception in the 16-13 loss. He threw for 78 yards in the first half and drove Kansas City on a late scoring drive to send the game to overtime. But on the second play of the extra period, Cassel was picked off by Lawrence Timmons, which led to the defeat. Cassel, who also gained 12 yards on two carries, posted a 46 passer rating in the loss. |
