Cutcliffe: Eli's arm 'tremendous'
(4/17/13) Duke football coach David Cutcliffe, who has worked with both Peyton and Eli Manning in the past, held a passing camp of sorts with the Manning brothers and their receivers recently in North Carolina. Cutcliffe told ESPN that he feels good about where Eli's arm is at following their latest session. "His arm was tremendous during this round," Cutcliffe said. "We do a lot of pure, solid, good old fashioned fundamental things that we have been doing with him since he has been coming to camp with me at Tennessee and at Ole Miss. I just have a good feeling about where he is right now. I thought he left here really on fire and I'm excited about seeing what is going to happen (this season)."
Manning tosses five TDs
(12/30/12) Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw a career-high five touchdowns during a 42-7 win Week 17 vs. NFC East rival Philadelphia, but sadly his career day went for naught as the Giants were eliminated from postseason play after the Bears defeated the Lions. Manning had three first-quarter touchdown passes and four touchdown passes by halftime. He got off to a great start by connecting with rookie Rueben Randle for touchdowns on the first two drives (3 and 38 yards). Manning then hit David Wilson for a 15-yard score with 1:18 left in the first quarter and hooked up with Victor Cruz for a 24-yard score with 4 seconds left before halftime. His final touchdown was a 1-yard pass to Henry Hynoski with 6:51 left in the fourth quarter. Manning finished 13 of 21 for 208 yards.
Manning disappoints in Week 16
(12/23/12) Giants quarterback Eli Manning completed 14 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-14 loss to the Ravens. Manning was sacked three times and rushed once for eight yards.
Manning ready for Ravens game
(12/21/12) Eli Manning will attempt to push his team back into the driver's seat of the NFC East when he plays at Baltimore in Week 16. The Ravens are going to be a challenge: They've allowed multiple passing touchdowns just once in their last five games and held brother Peyton Manning to one touchdown (and 204 yards) last week. The Ravens are expected to be without ballhawking safety Bernard Pollard and could still field a pass rush with a less-than-100 percent Terrell Suggs, who struggled to get to Peyton last week.
Manning a head-scratcher
(12/18/12) Giants quarterback Eli Manning has put together a disappointingly erratic run since the team's Week 11 bye, with two very good games (28 points against Green Bay, 30 points against the Saints) and two dismal ones (17 points against Washington and two last week against the Falcons). He heads into Week 16 staring down a Ravens defense that has given up the seventh-fewest Fantasy points to quarterbacks, but is coping with a series of injuries that have decimated the ranks.
