Chris Long questionable on final Rams' Week 15 injury report
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(12/10/14) Rams defensive end Chris Long was listed as questionable to play Thursday on the team's final injury report for Week 15's matchup with the Cardinals.
"He was OK," Rams coach Jeff Fisher told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch after practice. "We'll see how he is in the warmups tomorrow, but we're very optimistic about it."
The rest of the Rams' injured players were listed as probable after participating fully in practice Wednesday. That list includes center Scott Wells (elbow), guard Rodger Saffold (shoulder), linebacker James Laurinaitis (ankle), defensive tackle Alex Carrington (thigh), linebacker Will Herring (foot), tight end Cory Harkey (knee) and receiver Kenny Britt (not injury related).
|Chris Long's streak of years with double digits in sacks ended at two in 2013 when he had just 8.5, but he should continue to be a solid defensive lineman in all IDP leagues. Long had 13 sacks in 2011 and 11.5 sacks in 2012, so his 2013 performance was slightly disappointing. Still, he's had at least 8.5 sacks in each of the past four seasons and 41.5 total over that span. He scored his first defensive touchdown in 2013 and finished with 40 total tackles (33 solo) and two fumble recoveries. We consider Long a No. 2 defensive lineman in IDP leagues, worth drafting with a mid-round pick.
