Ellerbe played just one game last season due to a hip injury.

|(3/13/15) The Saints traded wide receiver Kenny Stills to the Dolphins in exchange for linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and a third-round pick, per the team's official website.
Stills, 22, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 draft out of Oklahoma. He caught 63 passes for 931 yards and three touchdowns last season. He has 95 catches for 1,572 yards and eight scores in his two-year run with the Saints. He still has two years and $1.26 million left on his rookie deal.

Report: Dolphins likely to release LB Dannell Ellerbe
|(3/7/15) Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe is likely to be released by the Dolphins, according to the Miami Herald. It is said the move is going to be made in order to create cap space.
Ellerbe, 29, played in only one game in 2014 due to a hip injury that landed him on injured reserve. He played in 15 games the year prior managing 101 total tackles and two interceptions.
The team has already released Phillip Wheeler and Ellerbe will be the latest Dolphin linebacker thrown into the free agency pool.
Dolphins sign LB as Dannell Ellerbe heads to IR
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(9/8/14) Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said starting linebacker Dannell Ellerbe will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a hip injury Sunday against the Patriots, according to The Palm Beach Post. It is believed Ellerbe will be placed on season-ending injured reserve and not placed on short-term IR, which would allow him to return this season.
The Dolphins will sign Kelvin Sheppard to take Ellerbe's spot on the roster.
|Dannell Ellerbe proved to be a productive Fantasy linebacker in 2013, his first with the Dolphins. He had career highs in tackles (101), interceptions (two) and fumble recoveries (two). He also added one sack and five pass defenses, and Ellerbe should be a low-end starting option or key reserve for IDP leagues. The caveat is if he remains at middle linebacker since the Dolphins could move him to the weak side. But if he continues to start in the middle then he's worth a late-round pick in the majority of IDP formats.
