Mayo records first two sacks: New England LB Jerod Mayo had a monster tackling performance in the winning effort over the Dolphins on Saturday of Week 16. Mayo recorded 13 tackles and two sacks in the performance as he took down Miami QB Matt Moore repeatedly. (Updated 12/24/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
The two sacks for Mayo were his first two of the season and the 13 tackles gives him 89 on the year. Injuries have hindered Mayo a bit this season, but he should still get to 100 tackles on the year. Mayo has been a consistent Fantasy option and should be active in many Fantasy IDP leagues going forward. (Updated 12/24/2011).

Jerod Mayo continues to prove he's among the more solid linebackers in IDP leagues. Mayo had 95 total tackles (58 solo) in 2011 with one sack and five pass defenses and three fumble recoveries. Mayo has over 95 tackles in all four seasons in the NFL, and he should once again anchor the New England defense in 2012. Plan on drafting Mayo with a mid-round pick this year and look for him to shine for the Patriots and Fantasy owners again. (Updated 4/25/12)
