Preseason Outlook

Broncos RB Hillis' season is over: Broncos rookie RB Peyton Hillis has a torn right hamstring and is done for the season, becoming the fifth Broncos tailback to go on injured reserve. Coach Mike Shanahan said Hillis will need eight weeks to recover and might need surgery. Hillis was hurt Sunday after an acrobatic catch against Kansas City when was bent over with his right leg planted and his knee locked on the tackle. In Week 14, Hillis had scored and gained 58 yards on eight carries and picked up 11 yards on the play in which he was hurt.

Fantasy Analysis

Hillis is of no value to your Fantasy team for the rest of the regular season. Replacing him in Denver's backfield will likely be Tatum Bell with Selvin Young eventually playing when he gets healthy. Both of whom have had previous success in the Broncos' running game but are either playing hurt or are past their prime. Picking them up to fill in for Hillis isn't a bad move, but expectations have to be low since it's been a while since either Bell or Young have been helpful to Fantasy owners. Bell is the likely starter for the Broncos at the Panthers in Week 15.
