Dalton: My arm strength is fine: After NFL Films producer Greg Cosell offered criticism in a recent Yahoo! Sports podcast claiming some in the Bengals organization questioned quarterback Andy Dalton's arm strength, the team has come out in full force to say that they're happy with Dalton. The second-year quarterback said none of the coaches addressed the comments with him directly, nor did they need to. "Everybody has an opinion, (Cosell) can say whatever he wants. It's not going to affect me," Dalton said. " ... I don't think it held me back last year and I don't think it's going to hold me back in my career here. Arm strength is one thing, a lot of throwing the ball is timing, consistency and keeping everybody on the same page. I don't think arm strength is an issue." (Updated 05/22/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Dalton played well as a rookie in leading the Bengals to the playoffs. He passed for 3,398 yards with 20 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, and he added 37 carries for 152 yards and a score. We consider Dalton a No. 2 Fantasy passer coming into 2012, and he is worth drafting with a late-round pick. He has the potential to be a No. 1 quarterback with a stud receiver in A.J. Green and some talented weapons, including tight end Jermaine Gresham. But another receiver in the mix would definitely help Dalton improve in his sophomore campaign. (Updated 05/22/2012).

Andy Dalton walked into Cincinnati as a rookie with a new offense to learn and no offseason program to help him out. He walked out of the 2011 season as an established passer that Fantasy owners will look at as a No. 2 quarterback in 2012. His stats weren't amazing, especially compared to that of fellow rookie Cam Newton, but he did hold his own with 21 total touchdowns, 212 passing yards per game and a 6.59 yards per attempt average. Dalton has some advantages heading into the year: He throws to one of the league's most promising receivers in A.J. Green as well as tight end Jermaine Gresham, and he will remain in Jay Gruden's aggressive version of the West Coast offense. There's plenty of room for Dalton to improve, especially if the Bengals get him another receiver to throw to. Fantasy owners should draft him as a No. 2 quarterback with a middle- to late-round pick in all drafts, though he has the potential to finish the year as a borderline starter depending on just how much progress he makes with the rest of the Cincinnati offense.
