Dalton hopes to improve: The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is hoping to improve heading into 2013 following a disappointing ending in the playoff loss at Houston. Said Dalton about the growing criticism of his play: Im not worried about that. Not that were satisfied where were at, but we went to the playoffs in my first two years that I was here. Thats something that hasnt happened in 30 years. To go from 4-12 before I got here to 9-7 and now 10-6, were getting better and going to be better next year. Dalton wants to get better on deep throws. I still think I can improve on it. If I hit on a couple of those longer throws in a game it changes things. I have to be better in that phase of the game, Dalton said. Put it in a spot where they can make a play and do a better job of that. (Updated 1/8/13) |

Dalton should improve in 2013 with the healthy return of receiver Mohammed Sanu (foot). Since Sanu got hurt in Week 12, Dalton hasn't had more than 16 Fantasy points. He's missing a third receiving option after A.J. Green and Jermaine Gresham, and he's showing his flaws as an inconsistent quarterback. Getting Sanu back at 100 percent in 2013 will help, and Dalton had at least 25 Fantasy points in seven games last year. But he's better off being viewed as a No. 2 Fantasy quarterback and someone you can pair with a low-end starting option (Russell Wilson for example). You should not reach for Dalton before Round 11 or 12 in most formats. (Updated 1/8/13). |
