Branch had played through his injuries for quite a while now, but decided to shut it down this week with the Raiders only playing for pride at this point. Branch finished six tackles shy of posting his fourth straight season with 100-plus tackles but was still Oakland's most consistent defender. Branch will be considered a viable IDP option in most formats heading into next season. (Updated 12/30/12). |

Steelers face most important draft of Mike Tomlin era
Coach Mike Tomlin is entering his seventh season in Pittsburgh, and this may be the most important draft of his tenure. The Steelers are old and cap-strapped, and in desperate need of depth up and down the roster. The organizaton has been relatively successful in recent drafts, but were they successful enough?

| Tyvon Branch continues to prove he’s a solid defensive back in all IDP leagues. He had 94 tackles (74 solo) in 2012 with one interception, and he now has at least 90 total tackles four years in a row. He only has four career interceptions and three career fumble recoveries, so we’d like to see him create more turnovers. But based on his tackle total he should be considered a No. 2 defensive back on Draft Day, and we recommend drafting him with a mid-round pick. (Updated 4/26/13) |
