Jacobs to undergo surgery soon: The New York Daily News reports that Brandon Jacobs (knee) will undergo arthrocopic surgery next week. Jacobs was placed on the injured reserve list after Week 16 and missed the final regular season game of the season due to his injury.

Fantasy Analysis

Jacobs is coming off a very frustrating season during which he failed to rush for 100 yards in any game and had only five touchdowns all year. His yards per carry dropped from 5.0 yards to 3.7 and his string of back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons was snapped despite the fact he rushed a career-high 224 times. Jacobs had 15 touches and 1,089 yards in the 2008-09 season, leading to a big contract for him, but this year he was far less dominant. He could be playing with a big chip on his shoulder in 2010-11 and has the ability to bounce back with a big season, but his stock will fall to being a mid-round pick as a low-end No. 2 RB or even a No. 3 option in many cases. The Giants have a lot of changes to make in the offseason to address what was a very disappointing season for them.
