Preseason Outlook

Daboll likes Cassel: New Chiefs offensive coordinator Brian Daboll said Tuesday he is looking forward to working with QB Matt Cassel. "I have a lot of confidence in Matt Cassel," Daboll said. "I've watched him on tape and I know the player." Cassel is expected to start for the Chiefs in 2012, although he could face some competition for the job. (Updated 02/07/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Cassel was a tremendous disappointment in 2011, playing in only nine games before breaking his hand. He tallied 1,713 yards with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. His completion percentage was slightly improved from the year before but was still below 60 pct. and his yards per attempt dipped over half a yard from 2010. Depending on what his receiving corps looks like in 2012, figure Cassel to be an afterthought in Fantasy drafts. Simply put, there are far too many other quarterbacks worthy of a draft pick than Cassel. (Updated 02/07/2012).
