Smith solid against Jags Week 12: San Francisco QB Alex Smith had a solid performance on Sunday in a Week 12 win over the Jaguars. He completed 27 of his 41 passes in the game, throwing for 232 yards and two touchdown passes. Vernon Davis and Frank Gore were the recipients of those TD passes. It was the second-most throws Smith has thrown in a game. Smith said the pass-happy game plan had more to do with taking advantage of Jacksonville's weaknesses than any lobbying on his part. "Their starting corner, [CB Rashean] Mathis, was out. We knew they were playing some young guys back there."

Smith said Sunday’s performance was the best he had felt in his entire pro career, which is a good sign for Fantasy owners. Smith might finally be living up to being a No. 1 overall pick and is worth picking up in deeper formats. The Niners take on a poor Seattle pass defense in Week 13 on the road. Think of Smith as a nice sleeper for that start.
