Cushing 'definitely' will be ready: Texans linebacker Brian Cushing told his team's official website he'll be ready for the start of the season. Cushing tore his left ACL last October. "My return is right around the corner, so that’s a good feeling," Cushing said on Monday. "I can definitely tell you I'll be ready for the first game of the season, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be ready for the first practice come training camp."

Without Cushing the Texans' run defense took a step back and the defense in general yielded more points than with him. Fantasy owners also missed Cushing and his nice weekly delivery of stats. Assuming there are no setbacks owners should consider him a Top 15 Fantasy LB worth a mid-round pick.

| Brian Cushing returning from a torn ACL suffered early last year and plans to be ready for the start of the regular season. If he's regularly active in camp then Fantasy owners should consider him since he's got potential for a lot of tackles (he has 110-plus hits in two of four seasons), some sacks, some interceptions and some other defensive stats. Though he's an injury risk, owners should pencil him in as a solid No. 2 Fantasy linebacker worth a mid-round pick. (Updated 4/26/13) |
