Fantasy Analysis
Cushing finished with 114 tackles during the regular season as he topped the century mark for the second time in his three NFL seasons. He continues to play through injuries and should be considered a solid option in the middle rounds of Fantasy IDP drafts for next season. (Updated 01/07/2012).
Playing in only 12 games in 2010, Texans LB Brian Cushing's production went due south. He had about half as many total tackles as he had as a rookie with 76, adding just 1.5 sacks, four passes defensed and a forced fumble. Compared to 2009, Cushing was a big bust, but there's hope for a rebound in 2011. Cushing is expected to move inside in the Texans new 3-4 scheme, and that should mean a robust tackle total. His other stats could remain where they were in '10, but so long as his tackle stats creep up, Fantasy owners should be happy. Figure Cushing is safest as a No. 3 Fantasy LB worth a late-round pick, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if an owner gambled and took him with a middle- to late-round choice. (Updated 5/2/11)
