Maualuga pleads not guilty: Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga pleaded not guilty to an assault charge, through his attorney Friday. Maualuga's attorney submitted the written plea on the misdemeanor charge, which was alleged by the employee of a Cincinnati bar. The linebacker, who pled guilty to a drunken driving charge in northern Kentucky in 2010, could face a suspension by the NFL as a repeat offender, if convicted. Neither Maualuga nor the Bengals have commented on the accusation that he punched the employee in the face on Feb. 5. Maualuga had 88 tackles and an interception last season. (Updated 02/17/2012)
