Mark Sanchez puts up garbage-time points

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/16/14) Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez ended up with decent numbers, but his second start in Week 11 against the Packers was mostly a disaster Sunday.

Sanchez finished the game with 21 Fantasy points, but most of that came after the game was already out of reach. He tossed both of his touchdowns in the second half with the Eagles down 30-plus points, after tossing a pair of ugly interceptions in the first half. He ended up completing 26 of 44 passes for 346 yards in the blowout loss.

Sanchez looked solid in his first start, but looked like the Mark Sanchez of old Sunday. He has six touchdowns in almost three full games since Nick Foles' injury, to go with four interceptions.

This Eagles offense looks like it can turn just about anyone into a productive Fantasy option, especially if they have to throw the ball 35-plus times. It might not be pretty, but Sanchez looks like he's in the right spot to remain Fantasy relevant down the stretch, even if you'll never feel great about starting him.

Mark Sanchez charged with four turnovers Week 11

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/16/14) Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez completed 26 of 44 throws for 346 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 53-20 loss at Green Bay. But he also threw two interceptions, including a pick-six, and was credited with two lost fumbles.

Sanchez telegraphed a short pass to tight end Brent Celek in the third quarter. Packers defensive end Julius Peppers picked it off easily and returned it 52 yards for a touchdown. Sanchez also was intercepted when he tried to throw out of bounds but didn't get enough on the ball.

One of Sanchez's fumbles occurred when LeSean McCoy failed to secure the handoff. On the other, Sanchez couldn't handle a high shotgun snap and Packers corner Casey Hayward scooped up the loose ball for a 49-yard score.

Sanchez, who threw second-half scores to Jordan Matthews and Jeremy Maclin, posted his 10th career 300-yard game and the second highest yardage output of his career. However, he overthrew several open receivers. He'll try for a better performance Week 12 against the Titans.

Mark Sanchez throws for 332 yards, 2 TDs in first Eagles start

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/10/14) Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez kept Chip Kelly's offensive machine rolling Monday night in his first start since replacing the injured Nick Foles. Sanchez hit 20 of 27 throws for 332 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers in a 45-21 pasting of the Panthers.

It was Sanchez's first 300-yard game since Nov. 22, 2012. He moved well in the pocket and took only one sack.

With his team leading 17-7, Sanchez led a 91-yard touchdown drive in which he completed five straight passes for 28, 17, 20, 20 and 13 yards. Four of those went to his favorite receiver, Jordan Matthews, including the 13-yard score.

Sanchez later found Matthews for an 18-yard touchdown, and he nearly had a 30-yard scoring pass to tight end Brent Celek. But Celek was ruled down inside the 1.

Sanchez posted a 102.5 passer rating. He visits the Packers in Week 11.

Eagles' Maclin: 'The sky is the limit' for QB Mark Sanchez

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11/6/14) The support continues to pour in for Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez, who takes over as Philadelphia's starting quarterback with Nick Foles sidelined. Sanchez is remembered for his struggles toward the end of his tenure with the Jets, but Eagles teammate Jeremy Maclin is the latest player or coach to show confidence in Sanchez.

"The Mark Sanchez I knew when he got here was the quarterback that led [the Jets] to two straight AFC championship games," Maclin said Wednesday, per the New York Post. "He was a quarterback who won at this level as a very high draft pick and did very well with what he was given in New York.

"Mark can play, man. There’s no question about it. He’s also surrounded by a lot more talent than what he had in New York, so the sky’s the limit."

Stephen Hill, who is a former teammate of Sanchez with the Jets and is now on the Panthers' practice squad, chimed in as well. He said Sanchez shouldn't have any issues with Chip Kelly's up-tempo offense. Sanchez makes his first start of the season Monday against Carolina.

"He gets the ball out of his hands quickly," Hill said, per ESPN. "That's going to be a big deal, especially for our defense."

Eagles 'feel very confident' with Mark Sanchez at quarterback

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11/3/14) Eagles coach Chip Kelly offered his support Monday for quarterback Mark Sanchez, who takes over as the starter after Nick Foles suffered a broken collarbone Sunday against the Texans.

"I feel great about Mark. We felt great about him all along," Kelly said. "I always said you need two quarterbacks. ...I thought he did a great job in our system. He played outstanding in the preseason and showed no rust when he got in there against Houston yesterday. We feel real confident. We feel obviously really bad for Nick that he’s out, but we feel very confident in Mark if we have to go in that direction."

Sanchez completed 15 of 22 passes for 202 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in relief of Foles during a 31-21 win Sunday.

"We didn't change anything," Kelly said of the Texans game. "He can run everything."
