Laurinaitis active for Week 17: St. Louis linebacker James Laurinaitis is starting in the Week 17 season finale at Seattle. He was a slight question mark for the Sunday game as he continues to deal with a nagging back injury. Laurinaitis has yet to miss any playing time this season, however.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Laurinaitis, who recorded his second interception of the season in Week 16, has recorded double-digit tackles in eight of 15 games this season. The interceptions aren't so common, but he's capable of putting himself in position to make a big play. Fantasy owners should view him as a must-start IDP option in all formats heading into the regular season finale.

2013 NFL free-agency previews: St. Louis Rams
As the St. Louis Rams look to build on a successful 2012, a number of questions remain on the offensive side of the ball. The Rams need help at wide receiver and could use improved pass protection for Sam Bradford. St. Louis also will need to address weaknesses at safety and strongside linebacker.

| James Laurinaitis remains one of the defensive bright spots for the Rams and Fantasy owners. Laurinaitis had 142 total tackles in 2012 with 117 solo. He now has at least 114 total tackles in all four years of his career, with 142 in each of the past two seasons. Last year, he also added two interceptions, something he had done three times, but he had a career-low 0.5 sacks. Still, he remains a solid No. 1 linebacker in all IDP leagues, and he's worth drafting with a mid-round pick. (Updated 4/26/13) |
