WR Emmanuel Sanders says Peyton Manning will return to Broncos
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(1/24/15) Although Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders' only communication with Peyton Manning was through a postseason text message, he believes that the veteran quarterback will return for another season, he told NFL.com on Friday.
Sanders and the Broncos were eliminated by the Colts in the AFC divisional round. Since that loss, the Broncos' coaching staff has been overhauled, with coach John Fox and offensive coordinator Adam Gase heading to Chicago.
"Well, Gase is definitely in Chicago right now," Sanders said. "And Peyton says he's going to come back, but I'm not really worried about it, I really just want to win a Super Bowl. So that is all that is on my mind."
Gary Kubiak was hired to take Fox's place in Denver, and Sanders said that if Manning doesn't return, backup Brock Osweiler would fit "really well" in the team's new offensive scheme.
"Yeah, I think Brock is a quarterback that is on the rise, he's going to continuously get better and I feel like Kubiak's offense fits him really well," Sanders said.
Sanders signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Broncos last March. He earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl after totaling 101 catches for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns -- all career highs.

|(1/16/15) Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will miss the 2015 Pro Bowl because he is still recovering from a late-season hip injury. Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will take Jones' spot on the Pro Bowl roster.
Jones made his second Pro Bowl roster after totaling 104 catches for 1,593 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games in 2014. Sanders is now headed to his first Pro Bowl after totaling 101 catches for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns -- all career highs.

|(1/15/15) Broncos wideout Emmanuel Sanders is headed to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Atlanta's Julio Jones, who dropped out citing an injury, reports the Denver Post. Sanders caught 101 passes for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season with Denver.
Julius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders produce minimally in loss
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(1/11/15) Broncos tight end Julius Thomas and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders weren't able to find much room in Denver's 24-13 loss to the Colts Sunday. Thomas had six catches for 53 yards and Sanders had seven for 46 in defeat.
Although he was targeted 15 times, Sanders and quarterback Peyton Manning just couldn't connect on deep targets down the field in Sunday's game. His first season as a Bronco ends with 108 catches for 1,450 yards and nine touchdowns.
As for Thomas, he finishes the year with 542 yards on 49 catches with 12 touchdowns in 14 games.
Emmanuel Sanders, Wes Welker contribute in finale
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(12/28/14) Broncos wideouts Emmanuel Sanders and Wes Welker turned in average games Week 17 against the Raiders.
Sanders was the more successful of the bunch, finishing with six receptions for 73 yards. He finished second on the team with nine targets. Sanders enjoyed a breakout season during his first year in Denver. He set numerous career-highs, including yardage (1,404) and touchdowns (9).
Welker only had two receptions, but managed to pick up 42 yards. Welker took a bit of a step back his second season in Denver. He finished the year with 49 receptions for 464 yards and two scores.
|It's not that Emmanuel Sanders played with a bad quarterback for the past four seasons, but when a guy with good speed and quickness gets a chance to catch passes from Peyton Manning in the league's most prolific offense, you pay attention. Sanders is expected to replace Eric Decker on the Broncos, opening the door for him to rake in the 135 targets Decker averaged in two years with Manning. No one's expecting Sanders to be as productive as Decker -- the two guys are very different receivers -- but he's faster and could find ways to get open that Decker couldn't do. That should lead to some nice yardage for Sanders and potentially a breakout season. If you want to own a piece of the Broncos offense without the high price tag, Sanders should be on your radar starting in Round 6 as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver. And in dynasty leagues, look for Sanders to potentially be the primary slot receiver for the Broncos in 2015 when Wes Welker, who will be a free agent, is likely gone.
