Bills franchise safety Byrd: The Bills announced they have designated free safety Jairus Byrd as its franchise player. He's expected to continue his career in Buffalo. (Updated 3/1/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
Byrd had 76 total tackles last year -- a down year for him -- with six passes defensed and five interceptions plus four fumble recoveries. Assuming he can get his tackle numbers north of 90 again in 2013 he'll be worth taking as a No. 1 option with a mid-round pick. (Updated 3/1/13). |
| Jairus Byrd was given the franchise tag by the Bills this offseason, and he should continue to play at a high level in what should be a contract year. He is a solid defensive back in all IDP leagues, and he is coming off a solid year in 2012 with 76 tackles (53 solo) to go with five interceptions, two fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles and six passes defensed. He has 18 interceptions in four seasons, and he has an ability to find the ball and create turnovers. Keep an eye on his contract, but Byrd should be worth drafting with a late-round pick as a No. 2 defensive back in IDP leagues. (Updated 4/25/13) |
