Fantasy Analysis

05/07/2012 00:13 2009 NFL Draft Revisited
Before prospects even take the field, most of us are guilty of "grading" each team on how they did in the draft. While there is nothing wrong with immediately evaluating each team*s draft class, a more practical exercise is to give prospects two or three seasons to prove themselves in the NFL
Jairus Byrd had his most complete season in 2011, and he will look to build on that performance this year. Byrd, who had nine interceptions as a rookie in 2009, had a career-high 98 total tackles (75 solo) last year with three interceptions and a touchdown. He also added a sack, one fumble recovery and eight passes knocked down. Byrd is entering a contract year, and he should continue to post quality stats. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick as a low-end No. 2 defensive back in IDP leagues. (Updated 4/25/12)
