Cowboys excited and cautious with return of LB Sean Lee

by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(1:22 pm ET) Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee tore his ACL during organized team activities last year. This year, he has been limited to individual drills during non-padded parctices, per The Dallas Morning News.

Cowboys linebackers coach Matt Eberflus said the team is happy to have Lee back but that they will pace him along slowly.

"He's a ball of energy and excitement and that represents who we are," Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli said. "He's moving well. We're just being smart as we get him ready to go. But he's got a lot of good quality work in."

Cowboys LB coach: Sean Lee 'super excited' to play weakside LB

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3/31/15) If the Cowboys bring back linebacker Rolando McClain, then it is assumed linebacker Sean Lee will be moved to the weakside, per The Dallas Morning News. Lee missed the 2014 season due to a torn ACL.

“If it says ‘linebacker’ behind the position, I think he’s going to be okay,” Cowboys linebackers coach Matt Eberflus said of Lee. “I think that, like I said, we’ll tie all these guys together and see how they fit. And we’ll find the best position for them…. Sean’s uniqueness in his ability, like a few other guys that we’ve had, he’s able to play all positions. He can really play all positions. That’s what makes him a valuable asset to our defense. He will certainly be good once we get him there and get him going. He’s really super excited and so am I.”

Cowboys' Stephen Jones: LB Sean Lee should practice in OTAs

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(2/18/15) The Cowboys are expected to have a key component to their defense back this spring.

Via the Dallas Morning News, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said linebacker Sean Lee should be "ready to go" for the team's offseason activity schedule beginning in April.

Lee tore his ACL last May during organized team activities, which caused him to miss the entire 2014 season. Lee has been injured quite a bit during his career but is one of the team's best defenders when healthy.

In his first four NFL seasons from 2010-2013, Lee totaled 294 tackles, 11 interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Cowboys LB Sean Lee expected to be ready in plenty of time

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(2/3/15) Cowboys middle linebacker Sean Lee missed the entire 2014 season recovering from a torn ACL. What's working in his favor is that he suffered the injury last May, giving him 16 months to get ready for the start of the 2015 season, notes the team's website.

The website said the oft-injured Lee is "due to have a good run" after playing just 17 games over the past three seasons. The report also raised the possibility of Dallas moving Lee to the weak side.

Cowboys highly unsettled at linebacker entering next season

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(1/22/15) Three of the Cowboys' top four linebackers -- Rolando McClain, Bruce Carter and Justin Durant -- are headed for unrestricted free agency, notes the Dallas Morning News. The paper says Cowboys brass is at the Senior Bowl looking for depth at linebacker.

“We have some contract work to do, but we had players really throughout that linebacker core show up positive last year,” owner Jerry Jones told the paper. “I would say that most of our linebackers’ arrows are up as far as they played and we have to sit down and work that through as far as what we’ll do contractually there.

“We’re fortunate to have some of the options that we have, Sean Lee leading the pack, coming back.”

Lee missed the 2014 season while recovering from a torn ACL.
