QB situation still harming Washington's wide receivers
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(12/14/14) Though the Redskins got a solid performance out of Robert Griffin III in Week 15, their two main wide receivers, Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson didn't benefit.
Jackson, who made his return from a shin injury Sunday, had just three receptions for 15 yards, despite being targeted eight times. He led the team in targets, one ahead of Garcon, who had just four catches of his own for 36 yards. That coming off a nine-catch, 95-yard showing last week.
Both players have shown the ability to be productive, but the inconsistent quarterback play has hurt them this season. Whether Griffin or Colt McCoy gets the starting nod in Week 16, neither player should be viewed as more than a low-end starting option against the Eagles, though both players had 100-plus yards and a touchdown in a prior meeting.
Redskins WR Pierre Garcon can't repeat Week 14 production

|(12/14/14) Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon finished with just four catches for 36 yards in a Week 15 loss to the Giants after totaling nine catches for 95 yards in Week 14. Garcon was targeted seven times and his longest reception went 22 yards.
The Redskins played most of Sunday's game with Robert Griffin III at quarterback after Colt McCoy aggravated a neck injury on the opening drive.
Garcon extended his scoreless streak to seven games. The Redskins are back in action Week 16 against the Eagles.
Injury factors into Pierre Garcon's production

|(12/8/14) We had a Pierre Garcon sighting Week 14 against St. Louis with DeSean Jackson sidelined by a bruised shin. An afterthought in the Redskins passing game just one year after hauling in 113 passes for 1,346 yards, the former Colt overcame a nine-game stretch in which he averaged 31.1 yards with 95 yards on nine catches, leading the team with 11 targets.
The Redskins still have plenty to sort out at quarterback after Colt McCoy left Sunday's game with a neck injury, but since Jackson isn't expected to be sidelined for long, you shouldn't put much stock in Garcon's performance regardless.

Washington WR Pierre Garcon gains 95 yards

|(12/7/14) Washington wideout Pierre Garcon was the only bright spot on offense Week 14.
Garcon hauled in nine passes for 95 yards during the contest. He was targeted a team-high 11 times. Quarterback Colt McCoy had a tough start, but managed to make sure Garcon was involved. With DeSean Jackson out, Garcon was the team's only real threat in the passing game. Despite the decent game, Garcon could not find the end zone.
He'll look for more Week 15 against the Giants.
Colt McCoy wants to target Pierre Garcon 'as much as we can'
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
|(12/3/14) Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon has not caught more than three passes in a game since Week 8. Quarterback Colt McCoy wants to change that Sunday against the Rams.
"We need to get Pierre the ball as much as we can," McCoy said, per the team's website.
Garcon has 49 catches for 507 yards and three touchdowns.
|Pierre Garcon was erratic in 2013 thanks to inconsistent play from quarterback Robert Griffin III, who was coming off knee surgery. He finished with 113 catches, which led all receivers, 1,346 yards and five touchdowns. He was No. 1 in targets with 184, but he had just six games with double digits in Fantasy points. We hope Garcon will be more consistent this season, and the addition of DeSean Jackson should help take away coverage. Garcon remains the No. 1 receiver for the Redskins even with the addition of Jackson, and he should be considered a high-end No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He is worth drafting in Round 4 in standard formats and in Round 3 in PPR leagues. Another season with 100-plus catches isn't out of the question for Garcon, especially with a healthy Griffin for (potentially) 16 games.
