Fantasy Analysis
Coach Pat Shurmur said Ward's recovery proved slower than expected. He will now get ample time to rest before next season. Cut Ward in all seasonal Fantasy IDP formats and consider him a mid-to-late-round Fantasy pick next summer. (Updated 12/22/2011).
T.J. Ward only played in eight games in 2011 thanks to a sprained foot. He averaged nearly five tackles per game with three passes defensed and a forced fumble. Those numbers are way down from his big rookie numbers, but that doesn't mean he won't rebound this season. Ward should stay as a starter in the defense and could have the makings of being a stable Fantasy starter for years to come. He's worth a middle- to late-round pick in drafts. (Updated 4/20/12)
