Giants RB coach preaches competition, tandem
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (1:04 pm ET) Giants running back coach Jerald Ingram confirmed what most Fantasy owners already assumed: Second-year speedster David Wilson and big back Andre Brown will compete for playing time but both will wind up getting work. The key on how those reps will be split might come down to just how improved Wilson's pass protection skills are. Ingram on Wilson: "He's in a position to compete to be the guy. He has the talent, has the speed, has a few plays from a year ago underneath his belt. Everything we gauge is kind of like in college with spring ball, but once we put the pads on, we'll see who is physical, who's determined to make plays out there." Ingram on Brown: "He's been waiting a lifetime around here (to play). We brought him in here because he can catch the ball, he can run, he can do a lot of things and be a complete running back here. And he's definitely a true every down kind of guy because he's got size, speed and quickness." Ingram wrapped up his comments to ESPN by hinting that the Giants will utilize both backs in a "thunder and lightning-type situation."

Gilbride has confidence in Brown
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/13/13) Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride seemed more confident in Andre Brown's skills as a pass blocker and third-down back than teammate David Wilson. "Andre had already made good strides (as a pass blocker). And Andre has continued to grow. And he has continued to get better. You feel more and more confident," Gilbride said. "He has actually gotten to a point where you feel better about third-down. First and second-down is one ... step. One big step, one important step. But the next step is, can you be a third-down back because of the complexity of what people are doing with their defensive schemes? And therefore what you do on offense to handle those things – the position that gets a lot asked of it is the running back position."

Giants RBs aiming for 1,000 yards each
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/6/13) Giants running backs David Wilson and Andre Brown each want to get 1,000 yards rushing, becoming the second tandem in team history to do so. Brown has extremely lofty goals this year while Wilson hasn't picked out his yet, but the New York Daily News expects both guys to work togetgher: Wilson as the primary speedster and Brown as the change-of-pace brawler and goal-line back. Brown also noted he's completely healthy after breaking his leg last year. "We’re both working hard, and we’re going to play off each other,” Wilson said. “He’s a bigger back, and I’ve got breakaway speed. We can make things happen."

Brown 'in the mix' at RB?
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/20/13) The Giants' official team website reports the starting running back job will be won in training camp and the preseason but that David Wilson is expected to earn it. "The general feeling is the job is Wilson’s to lose," wrote website writer and veteran Giants reporter Michael Eisen. The story adds Andre Brown is "in the mix" at running back.

Brown signs tender
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/23/13) ESPN reports that Giants running back Andre Brown signed his tender offer with the team. He will make $2.02 million this season. Brown is expected to work in tandem with second-year running back David Wilson. He recently said his goals this year are 22 touchdowns and 1,300 rushing yards.
