Injured Redskins able to play

(12/8/2013) Redskins defensive back Reed Doughty (concussion, shoulder), who was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, and tight end Niles Paul (illness) and offensive lineman Trent Williams (foot), who were listed as probable, are all active for Week 14 against the Chiefs.

(12/6/2013) Washington has listed S Reed Doughty, TE Jordan Reed, S Brandon Meriweather and FB Darrel Young as questionable Week 14. 

All four players were limited in practice Thursday. Doughty is dealing with a concussion, but believes he'll be ready to go Sunday. 


Redskins' starting safeties miss practice

(12/4/2013) Redskins safeties Brandon Meriweather (sternum contusion) and Reed Doughty (concussion) missed practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. Doughty could have gone through positional drills, but the team decided to hold him out, reports the Washington Post.

Doughty also sustained a concussion Oct. 20 against the Bears.

(11/3/2013) Washington Redskins DE Stephen Bowen (shoulder, knee), S Reed Doughty (concussion), WR Leonard Hankerson (foot) and TE Logan Paulsen (knee) are all active for the Week 9 game against San Diego. All four players were able to fully participate in practice every day this week and were officially considered probable on Friday's injury report.

(11/1/2013) Washington DE Stephen Bowen, S Reed Doughty, WR Leonard Hankerson, DT Chris Neild, TE Logan Paulsen and RB Chris Thompson are probable Week 9 against the Chargers.

All six players were able to fully participate in practice every day this week. They should all be able to play Sunday.

(10/30/2013) Redskins safety Reed Doughty, who missed the loss at Denver with a concussion, said he's optimistic he'll be able to play Sunday against San Diego. “It’s always an ongoing protocol when you haven’t played in a game,” he told the Washington Post. “I’m feeling a lot better. But we’ll just have to see how it goes as the week goes on.”

(10/26/2013) Redskins safety Reed Doughty did not make the trip with the team and was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Comcast SportsNet Washington reports.

Doughty suffered a concussion in Week 7 and needed to pass a concussion test Saturday in order to play. He was originally listed as questionable for the game. The team will be without both of their starting safeties come Week 8 at Denver. 


Redskins defense dealing with injuries

(10/25/2013) The Redskins have some injury concerns on the defensive side of the ball for Week 8 against the Broncos, as three players are listed on Friday's official injury report as questionable. Defensive lineman Stephen Bowen (knee) is joined by defensive backs Reed Doughty (concussion) and Chris Neild (calf), all of whom were limited throughout the week in practice.

Doughty could play in Sunday's game, but he has to pass a concussion test Saturday before being cleared, as head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters.

(10/20/2013) Redskins safety Reed Doughty suffered a concussion Sunday during the Week 7 win against Chicago from Washington. Doughty had to leave the game early. 

Before leaving, the safety registered six tackles and a pass defended. The 30-year-old has 26 tackles on the year. The Redskins play at Denver Week 8.
