News: The Raiders cut defensive end Dave Tollefson after one season. He had eight total tackles and a half-sack over 15 games.
Analysis: He's not productive enough for Fantasy use. Leave him off rosters.
News: Defensive end Dave Tollefson, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, officially signed with the Raiders according to The Sports Xchange. Tollefson played five seasons with the Giants, registering five sacks in a reserve role in 2011.
Analysis: Tollefson is not expected to break out now that he's in Oakland. We wouldn't draft him.
News: Giants suffered a "leg injury" in Week 13 against the Packers. Tollefson was able to remain in the contest, but said after then game that he would have tests done on his leg Monday.
Analysis: Tollefson recorded a sack on Sunday, but may have injured himself in the process. Fantasy owners should check back on Monday to see the latest details. However, Tollefson isn't worth owing in most formats at this point in the season.
News: Giants DL Dave Tollefson had his first career two-sack day in Week 4 against the Cardinals. Those were his only tackles of the contest but they helped New York get the 31-27 win.
Analysis: Tollefson now has five tackles and three sacks through the first four weeks of the season. He's been getting playing time with New York banged up on the defensive line. Just because he's doing well, Tollefson is not the answer in IDP Fantasy leagues. Continue to ignore him.
News: Giants DL Dave Tollefson picked up two tackles in Week 1 at the Redskins. One of those two tackles went for a sack.
Analysis: With both Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck out due to injuries, there was more room for Tollefson to produce. Both are expected back within the next couple of weeks, which caps Tollefson's long term appeal. However, Tollefson makes for a decent short-term option in deeper IDP formats.
News: The Star-Ledger reports Friday that the Giants have resigned DE Dave Tollefson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tollefson has been with the team for the last four seasons, and he notched a career-high 20 tackles in 2010 to go along with 1/2 of a sack.
Analysis: Tollefson is mainly utilized as extra depth on the outside, but he may see more of an opportunity depending on what happens with Osi Umenyiora's contract and the fact that Mathias Kiwanuka is taking some reps at outside linebacker. Even if he dominoes fell the right way enough to land Tollefson a starting job, he remains a player to be ignored on Draft Day until he proves otherwise.
News: Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday that DE Dave Tollefson (knee) "is going to be out for a while." He could be placed on injured reserve.
Analysis: Tollefsen is just a backup for the Giants and can continue to be ignored in IDP Fantasy play, healthy or not.
News: Giants WR Ramses Barden, DB Aaron Ross, RB Gartrell Johnson, LB Bryan Kehl, DL Dave Tollefson and WR Sinorice Moss have all been ruled inactive for Week 9 vs. San Diego.
Analysis: Ross has yet to play this season because of a hamstring injury and there is no telling when he might return. He is about the only inactive Fantasy player with some value when active. Most of the other players are reserves and barely factor. Keep them reserved for Week 9.
News: The Giants listed the following players as inactive for Week 2 at St. Louis: K Lawrence Tynes (knee), DB Terrell Thomas (hamstring), DB R.W. McQuarters (calf), LB Jonathan Goff (back), DL Dave Tollefson (coach's decision) and WR Mario Manningham (coach's decision).
Analysis: Tynes is the only player listed here with a shred of Fantasy appeal. None of the other players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: Giants DE Dave Tollefson had a stinger in his shoulder and left Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots. He had two tackles and 1/2 sack before leaving the game. Tollefson finished the preseason with sevne tackles and 1/2 sack.
Analysis: Tollefson will be nothing more than a backup defensive end for the Giants to open the season and can be ignored in all Fantasy formats.
News: The Giants listed QB Jared Lorenzen (third QB), RB Derrick Ward (ankle), WR Steve Smith (shoulder, hamstring), DB James Butler (ankle, hamstring), DL Dave Tollefson (coach's decision) and DL Manuel Wright (coach's decision) as inactive for Week 8 vs. Miami in London, England.
Analysis: Ward is the only significant inactive here. Steve Smith continues to rehab and is more of a keeper league option at this time. Keep all of these players reserved until further notice.
News: The Giants listed QB Jared Lorenzen (emergency QB), WR Steve Smith (shoulder), DB Craig Dahl (coach's decision), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (coach's decision), DL Dave Tollefson (coach's decision) and DL Manuel Wright (coach's decision) as inactive for Week 7 vs. San Francisco.
Analysis: Smith is the only player on this list worth even thinking about in Fantasy play, but even he is only worth a look in deeper leagues and keeper formats. As for the rest of these players, leave them on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: The Giants' list of inactives for Week 6 at Atlanta includes WR Steve Smith, DB Craig Dahl, QB Jared Lorenzen, RB Ahmad Bradshaw, DL Dave Tollefson and DL Manuel Wright.
Analysis: These players are all either reserves on offense or minor statistical contributors on defense. Keep them on the waiver wire.
News: The Giants listed QB Jared Lorenzen (third QB), WR Steve Smith (shoulder), DB Craig Dahl (coach's decision), RB Ahmad Bradshaw (coach's decision), DL Dave Tollefson (coach's decision) and DL Manuel Wright (coach's decision) as inactive for Week 5 vs. the Jets.
Analysis: Steve Smith is the only player on this list worth owning in Fantasy leagues, but even he is only worth a flier in deeper formats and keeper leagues at this time. The rest of these players should be left on the waiver wire until futher notice.
News: The Giants signed DE Dave Tollefson and placed fullback Robert Douglas on injured reserve Tuesday. Tollefson was on the Oakland Raiders practice squad. He has no NFL regular-season experience. He was a seventh-round draft pick by Green Bay in 2006. Douglas played against Washington on Sept. 23 in his only action this season. A knee injury landed him on injured reserve.
Analysis: Neither player will make an impact Fantasywise the rest of the season. Ignore them.
News: The Raiders signed WR Chris McFoy and DLs Josh Shaw and Dave Tollefson to their practice squad.
Analysis: None of these players should be drafted in any Fantasy leagues in 2007. They will not get enough playing time to help your roster this season.
News: The Oakland Raiders released third-round pick Quentin Moses, veteran fullback Zack Crockett and free-agent safety Donovin Darius on Saturday as they reduced their roster to 53 players. Receiver Alvis Whitted, who started 15 games last year without catching a touchdown pass, was also let go. The other players cut were: TEs James Adkisson and O.J. Santiago; OLs Jesse Boone, Chad Slaughter, Kevin Boothe and Mark Wilson; LBs Kurt Campbell and Kyle Shotwell; WRs Carlos Francis and Chris McFoy; DLs Anttaj Hawthorne, Josh Shaw and Dave Tollefson; DB Marquice Cole and rookie DB Eric Frampton; and PK Tyler Fredrickson.
Analysis: There are a bunch of surprises here, including Moses, Darius, Crockett, Whitted and Frampton. Expect those players to find new homes soon. Ultimately, all of the above players should be considered unusable for Fantasy purposes until they find regular playing time with an NFL team.
News: The Raiders have allocated LB Ricardo Dickerson, WR Rich Parson, CB Levonne Rowan, DE Dave Tollefson and WR Lauren Williams to NFL Europa this spring.
Analysis: These players will participate in the NFL's spring league that has created stars such as Jake Delhomme, Adam Vinatieri, Marcus Robinson, Kurt Warner and Jon Kitna. If they play so well over there that they become viable Fantasy options, you'll know about it before the start of the season.
News: The Packers signed safety Alvin Nnabuife to the practice squad on Wednesday, placing practice squad defensive end Dave Tollefson on injured reserve. Nnabuife was placed on Injured Reserve earlier this season with the Raiders but was waived and is eligible to play again.
Analysis: Owners should pass on adding both players.
News: The Packers have signed the following players to their practice squad: TE Zac Alcorn, SS Atari Bigby, CB Patrick Dendy, WRs Chris Francies and Calvin Russell, DE Dave Tollefson, OT Travis Leffew and FB Brandon Miree.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to make any sort of impact in Fantasy Football. Ignore them for now.

Cochrane, RB Najeh Davenport, CB Patrick Dendy, WR Chris Francies, WR Rod Gardner, LB Tim Goodwell, CB Antonio Malone, LB Roy Manning, S Jeremy Modkins, G Siitupe Peko, DE/DT Kenny Peterson, WR Cory Rodgers, DE Dave Tollefson and C Pete Traynor.Placed on injured reserve Saturday were RB Arliss Beach, T Josh Bourke and CB Mike Hawkins.
Analysis: Other than Davenport and Gardner, none of these players were supposed to come close to having any Fantasy appeal. Ignore them all.
