Bucs release DL Charleston

News: The Bucs released defensive lineman Jeff Charleston Tuesday.
Analysis: Charleston was signed last week in response to Tampa Bay losing defensive end Adrian Clayborn. Clearly, Charleston didn't do enough to keep his roster spot, so he is a free agent again. Continue to ignore him in Fantasy.

Bucs sign DL Charleston

News: The Bucs signed defensive end Jeff Charleston Wednesday.
Analysis: Charleston is added to the roster after Tampa Bay lost starting defensive end Adrian Clayborn for the season. Charleston is a veteran lineman, but he is just roster depth and has no Fantasy appeal.

Vikings send players off the plank

News: The Vikings continued trimming their roster Friday in preparation for the regular season and released the following players: running backs Lex Hilliard and Ryan D'Imperio; defensive linemen Trevor Guyton, Nick Reed and Jeff Charleston; and wide receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux.
Analysis: Some of these players were able to make an early impression in training camp and survive the first round of cuts. However, neither of them were ultimately expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left on waivers at this point.

Charleston back with Saints

News: New Orleans announced it re-signed DE Jeff Charleston on Saturday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed for Charleston, who served as a backup last season and has been with the team since 2008.
Analysis: Charleston has been inconsistent in the pass rush during his stay with New Orleans and started just one game last year. The 28-year-old has collected three sacks in each of the 2010 and 2008 seasons, but his Fantasy value is limited. He should remain ignored in upcoming IDP drafts.

Saints bring back DL Charleston

News: The Saints re-signed defensive end Jeff Charleston and cut wide receiver Terrance Cooper on Tuesday. Charleston first signed with the Saints as a free agent last Wednesday and practiced with the team before being waived Saturday.
Analysis: Charleston won't find himself on the field enough to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers.

Saints make slew of moves

News: The Saints placed backup fullback Olaniyi Sobomehin, who injured his shoulder when he absorbed a heavy hit and fumbled on the goal line during the Saints' Week 4 victory over San Francisco, on injured reserve. They also waived tight end Buck Ortega and signed defensive end Jeff Charleston, defensive tackle Montavious Stanley and tight end Sean Ryan to their active roster. New Orleans also made a pair of changes to its practice squad, releasing safety David Roach and linebacker William Kershaw and filling their spots with cornerback Darrell Hunter and linebacker Pago Togafau.
Analysis: None of the players named above were or are expected to post enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them all off rosters until further notice.

Analysis: Among the Colts cuts, only Aromashodu showed any real Fantasy relevance this preseason and may catch on elsewhere. The other aforementioned players have no Fantasy relevance at this time.

Colts list their Week 7 inactives

News: The Colts' list of inactives for Week 7 at Jacksonville includes WR Craphonso Thorpe, DB Michael Coe, RB Clifton Dawson, DB Brannon Condren, LB Victor Worsley, DL Jeff Charleston and DL Dan Klecko.
Analysis: These players either sit too low on the depth chart on offense or play too little a statistical role on defense to have value in Fantasy. Keep them inactive in all leagues. The Colts visit the Panthers in Week 8.
