Earl Mitchell gets $8 million guaranteed from Dolphins

(3/12/2014) Former Texans nose tackle Earl Mitchell signed a four-year, $19 million contract with the Dolphins, including $8 million guaranteed, reports the National Football Post.

(3/11/2014) The Dolphins are expected to sign free agent defensive tackle Earl Mitchell, reports ESPN. The deal is worth four years, $16 million and includes $9 million guaranteed.

Mitchell spent the first four years of his career with the Texans and had 48 tackles in 2013 with 1.5 sacks.

(3/11/2014) Free agent nose tackle Earl Mitchell won't re-sign with the Texans, reports ESPN.com. The Dolphins, Chargers, Buccaneers, Seahawks, Bears and Cowboys are interested in Mitchell, who became a starter last season, the report said.

(11/10/2013) Texans OL Brandon Brooks, OL Andrew Gardner, TE Garrett Graham, S Shiloh Keo, WR Keshawn Martin, CB Brice McCain, DT Earl Mitchell, OL Derek Newton, LB Darryl Sharpton and OL Wade Smith are active Week 10 against the Cardinals.

All ten players were expected to play Week 10. Graham had been dealing with a thigh injury, but will play through it.

(11/8/2013) Take away sidelined featured back Arian Foster and the Texans are in fine shape for their game Sunday in Arizona. Their only other player listed as anything worse than probable is linebacker Mike Mohamed (hamstring), who is also out.

The probables are offensive linemen Derek Newton (knee/elbow), Wade Smith (knee), Brandon Brooks (foot) and Andrew Gardner (knee), tight end Garrett Graham (thigh), defensive backs Brice McCain (hip) and Shiloh Keo (ankle), nose tackle Earl Mitchell (knee), running back Ben Tate (ribs) and linebacker Darryl Sharpton (foot/toe).

Suiting up are tackles Duane Brown (toe) and Derek Newton (knee, elbow), guards Wade Smith (knee) and Brandon Brooks (toe), safeties Shiloh Keo (Achilles) and Eddie Pleasant (toe), wideouts Keshawn Martin (shoulder) and DeVier Posey (calf), cornerback Brice McCain (knee), nose tackle Earl Mitchell (knee) and linebacker Darryl Sharpton (foot, toe).

Quarterback Matt Schaub (ankle) also is active and will back up Case Keenum. All the injured players were listed as probable.

(11/1/2013) The Texans are fit as a fiddle defensively as they prepare for their AFC South showdown Sunday night against Indianapolis. All the players on their injury report on that side of the ball have been deemed probable.

They are Shiloh Keo (Achilles), cornerback Brice McCain (knee), nose tackle Earl Mitchell (knee), safety Eddie Pleasant (toe) and linebacker Darryl Sharpton (foot).
