Robert Griffin III to work with receivers next week

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/17/2014) Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and his receiving targets will gather in Arizona next week to "knock off some rust and get a jump on offseason workouts," reports the Washington Post. The receivers scheduled to attend include Pierre Garcon, Aldrick Robinson, Santana Moss, new additions Andre Roberts and David Gettis, tight end Jordan Reed and running backs Alfred Morris, Evan Royster and Chris Thompson.

Redskins sign David Gettis to futures deal

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(1/7/2014) The Redskins signed receiver David Gettis to a reserve/futures contract, enabling him to participate in offseason workouts. Released by the Panthers in September, Gettis put together his best season as a rookie in 2010 when he caught 37 passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns.

Domenik Hixon on roster bubble?

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(8/28/2013) Domenik Hixon has gone from the Panthers' most likely No. 3 receiver to the roster bubble, reports ESPN.com. Hixon, who had been out with a hamstring injury, will play Thursday against the Steelers in the preseason finale.

"So this could be Hixon's coming out party -- or sendoff," the report said.

In Hixon's absence, the competition for the No. 3 spot was between Armanti Edwards and David Gettis, "with return specialist Ted Ginn Jr. figuring in the mix," according to the report.

David Gettis shines in second preseason game

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(8/16/2013) Panthers receiver David Gettis is buried pretty far down on the depth chart, but he made the most of his chances in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles.

Gettis saw a bit of playing time with the first-team offense, but did his damage after the reserves came in. Gettis was targeted once by Cam Newton, failing to bring that catch in. He was dominant in the second half, however, bringing in five receptions for 82 yards, both of which led the team.

Gettis is fighting for a spot within the team's receiver rotation, but it likely to end up no higher than No. 5 on the depth chart.

Panthers activate Gettis

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(11/6/2012) Panthers interim general manager Brandon Beane announced Tuesday wide receiver David Gettis (hamstring) was activated from the PUP list to replace receiver Kealoha Pilares, who went on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
