News: With Cb Cassius Vaughn landing on season-ending IR Monday, the Broncos signed LB Mike Mohamed to take his place on the active roster. Mohamed was released by Denver earlier in the season.
Analysis: Mohamed was signed to provide extra depth at LB, but will likely not see much of the field on Sunday's. Owners can continue to ignore the 23-year-old in all formats moving forward.
News: The Broncos signed TE Dante Rosario on Thursday. They waived LB Mike Mohamed to take his place on the roster.
Analysis: Rosario was waived by the Dolphins this week. He did not see much playing time in Miami and is unlikely to get many reps in the offense in Denver. Mohamed was never an option for IDP formats and should remain unowned in all leagues.
News: Denver agreed to a contract with rookie LB Mike Mohamed, the team's sixth-round draft pick this year, on Wednesday, according to the Denver Post. The Broncos also signed TE Julius Jones and DE Jeremy Beal to four-year deals.
Analysis: Mohamed was an inside linebacker with California and racked up 339 total tackles during his four-year career that included three all-conference honors. He's not expected to produce much this season and should remain ignored in all Fantasy formats for 2011.
News: Drafting Von Miller with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft wasn't enough for the Broncos as they spent three other picks on linebackers. Denver drafted N.C. State linebacker Nate Irving (Round 3), Cal LB Mike Mohamed (Round 6) and Oklahoma LB Jeremy Beal (Round 7). Irving survived a serious car accident in 2009 to play pretty well in 2010 (20.5 tackles for loss) and is a versatile 'backer. Mohamed is more of a 'tweener who can cover slot receivers and tight ends. Beal isn't fast but does have experience in the 3-4 scheme and could move to defensive end for the Broncos.
Analysis: Of these linebackers, Irving is the one with the most promise to become a healthy tackler in the NFL. He's worth a late pick in dynasty/keeper leagues and rookie-only drafts. Mohamed and Beal shouldn't be taken in Fantasy leagues just yet.
