Steelers' Troy Polamalu doubtful to play Sunday vs. Chiefs

(12/19/2014) The Steelers released their final injury report for Week 16’s game against the Chiefs and safety Troy Polamalu (knee) is listed as doubtful.

Cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder) is also listed as doubtful. Tight end Matt Spaeth (elbow) is the only player listed as questionable.

The following players are listed as probable: William Gay, Marcus Gilbert, James Harrison, Steve McLendon, Heath Miller, Mike Mitchell, Maurkice Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger and Markus Wheaton.

The Steelers are 3-point favorites.

(12/12/2014) The Steelers have listed corner back Ike Taylor as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Taylor, who left last week's game against the Bengals with a forearm injury, was unable to practice most of the week. 

Linebacker James Harrison , who missed last week's game with a knee injury, is questionable. 

The following players are probable for Pittsburgh: Ben Roethlisberger, William Gay, Marcus Gilbert, Cameron Heyward, Heath Miller and Maurkice Pouncey.

(12/9/2014) Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday the team will monitor how James Harrison (knee), Ike Taylor (forearm) and Marcus Gilbert (ankle) react to their aliments in practice this week before determining their playing status.

Of the three, only Taylor was able to play during Week 14’s victory over the Bengals. The Steelers play at Atlanta Sunday.

Gilbert was the only player on Pittsburgh's final injury report ruled out for Sunday. Linebacker James Harrison (knee) also missed practice all week and is unlikely to play. He was ruled as doubtful.

Nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder) was the only player on the report designated as questionable, while cornerback Cortez Allen (thumb), cornerback Brice McCain (hamstring), tight end Heath Miller (rest), safety Troy Polamalu (illness), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (rest), linebacker Ryan Shazier (ankle) and cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder) were deemed probable.

(11/28/2014) Steelers tackle Marcus Gilbert and linebacker Ryan Shazier have both been designated as questionable for the Sunday game against New Orleans. Meanwhile cornerback Cortez Allen (thumb) and nose tackle Steve McLendon have been ruled out.

The rest of those placed on the Friday injury report are probable. That group includes wide receiver Martavis Bryant (illness), cornerback Ike Taylor (forearm) and safety Shamarko Thomas (hamstring).

(11/27/2014) Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert did not practice Thursday due to an ankle injury, putting his status for Week 13 vs. New Orleans, according to ESPN. Gilbert was injured during practice Wednesday when he collided with left guard Ramon Foster.

Mike Adams would start at right tackle for Pittsburgh, if Gilbert is unable to play Sunday.
