Texans list lengthy injury report for Week 12

(11/21/2014) The Texans released a lengthy injury report that included 16 players leading up to Week 12 against Cincinnati. 13 of the 16 players on the list were deemed probable.

Kareem Jackson (knee) was the only player ruled out, while Arian Foster (groin) and Max Bullough (hamstring) were deemed questionable.

The following players were ruled as probable for Sunday: Tyson Clabo (foot), Jadeveon Clowney (knee), Brian Cushing (knee), Akeem Dent (neck), Jonathan Grimes (ankle), Andre Johnson (rest), Johnathan Joseph (knee), Ryan Mallett (chest), Whitney Mercilus (knee), Mike Mohamed (hip), Darryl Morris (ankle), Jeff Tarpinian (knee) and Justin Tuggle (shoulder).

(10/24/2014) The Texans listed a lengthy injury report for Week 8 against the Titans.

Darryl Morris (ankle) and Jeff Tarpinian (knee) were the only two players on the list ruled out for the divisional clash. Jadeveon Clowney (knee), Brian Cushing (knee), Brooks Reed (groin) and John Simon (ankle) were labeled questionable. Meanwhile, Akeem Dent (wrist), Tim Jamison (groin), Andre Johnson (ankle), Johnathan Joseph (knee), Mike Mohamed (calf) and Jerrell Powe (shoulder) were all deemed probable.

(10/9/2014) Every player listed as "probable" on the Texans injury report is active Thursday against the Colts. 

Studs like J.J. Watt, Arian Foster and Brian Cushing will play. Alfred Blue and Ryan Fitzpatrick were also cleared. 

The club will also have A.J. Bouye, Akeem Dent, Tim Jamison, Damaris Johnson, Ben Jones, Johnathan Joseph, Shane Lechler, Derek Newton, Ryan Pickett, Eddie Pleasant, D.J. Swearinger and Jeff Tarpinian available for the contest. All 12 players were listed as probable entering the game. 


Texans place 18 probables on Wednesday injury report

(10/8/2014) All but one of 18 players listed by the Texans as probable for their Thursday night game against Indianapolis was a full participant at Wednesday practice. The exception is cornerback Johnathan Joseph (knee), who was limited.

The other defensive probables are cornerback A.J. Bouye (groin), safeties Eddie Pleasant (ankle) and D.J. Swearinger (elbow), linebackers Jeff Tarpinian (thigh), Brian Cushing (knee) and Akeem Dent (shoulder), and defensive linemen Tim Jamison (groin), Ryan Pickett (knee) and J.J. Watt (thigh).

The offensive probables are running back Alfred Blue (knee), linemen Derek Newton (ankle), Brandon Brooks (ankle) and Ben Jones (knee), quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (calf) and wide receiver Damaris Johnson (foot). Punter Shane Lechler (hip) is also probable.

(10/3/2014) The Texans have listed nine players as probable Week 5.

Duane Brown, Brian Cushing, Akeem Dent, Damaris Johnson, Ben Jones, Johnathan Joseph, Shane Lechler, Chris Myers and D.J. Swearinger should all be able to go during the contest.

Defensive end Tim Jamison comes into the game listed as questionable. He's dealing with a groin injury and was limited in practice Friday. 


Texans injury report dominated by probables

(9/19/2014) As expected, the Texans have ruled out rookie outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (knee) and safety Shiloh Keo (calf) for their Week 3 game against the host Giants.

Most of the other players are their extensive injury report are probable, though featured back Arian Foster (hamstring), offensive lineman Ben Jones (ankle/knee) and safety D.J. Swearinger (elbow) are questionable.

The probables are linebacker Akeem Dent (hamstring), tight ends Garrett Graham (ankle) and C.J. Fiodorowicz (foot), wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (illness), defensive end Tim Jamison (groin), wide receiver Andre Johnson (ankle), cornerback Johnathan Joseph (foot), nose tackle Louis Nix (wrist) and fullback Jay Prosch (hand).


T.J. Yates traded for Akeem Dent

(6/19/2014) The Texans traded quarterback T.J. Yates, who was believed to be waived but apparently not, to the Falcons for linebacker Akeem Dent. The trade was announced on Thursday. 

Yates, a former fifth-round pick of the Texans, gives the Falcons some needed experience and depth at quarterback behind Matt Ryan. Playing over 13 games, including a five-week stint as the starter in 2011, the Georgia native has 1,100 passing yards and three touchdowns with a rush score and six interceptions and four fumbles lost. 

Dent is a former third-round pick of the Falcons. In 47 games (20 starts), Dent totaled 136 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three passes defensed. 


Report: Akeem Dent likely to undergo surgery

(1/20/2014) Falcons linebacker Akeem Dent, bothered by an ankle injury throughout the season, is heading for a second opinion and likely will undergo surgery, reports ESPN.com. It would be a minor cleanup procedure, the report said.

Dent had 51 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 15 games.


Four questionable Falcons should go Week 13

All four players were questionable coming into the game. They were all able to get through limited practice Friday.

All four players were able to practice this week, but were limited during practices. Weatherspoon was actually able to practice in full Thursday, but was downgraded to limited practice Friday.

Hawley and Jerry were limited in practice Thursday, but were able to practice in full Friday. Both Dent and Reynolds were full go both days.

While linebacker Stephen Nicholas (thigh) has already been ruled out for Sunday's game, defensive back Robert Alford (ankle) and defensive lineman Corey Peters (shoulder) are both probable. Akeem Dents (ankle) is questionable as well.

Dent is averaging 7.0 tackles in four games this season. He also had 1 1/2 sacks Week 3 at Miami.

(9/30/2013) Falcons defensive back Desmond Trufant and linebacker Joplo Bartu each made six tackles in the loss to the Patriots. Trufant had a pass defended, Bartu a tackle for loss.

They tied for second on the team behind linebacker Akeem Dent, who made eight tackles before leaving with an ankle injury. Safety Thomas DeCoud and defensive tackle Corey Peters added five tackles apiece.

(9/29/2013) Falcons linebackers Akeem Dent and Paul Worrilow sustained injuries in the second half of the game against the Patriots. Dent hurt his ankle, and Worrilow hurt his knee.

(9/22/2013) Falcons linebacker Akeem Dent enjoyed another productive performance as he registered 1 1/2 sacks in Sunday's game against the Dolphins in Week 3.

Dent took down Ryan Tannehill in the third quarter and helped Joplo Bartu take him down again in the fourth quarter. He posted five tackles (three solo), one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits in a 27-23 defeat.

Fellow linebacker Akeem Dent actually led the team in tackles, though, finishing with 11, including five solo.
