Nate Byham let go by Patriots

(7/26/2014) Five days after signing tight end Nate Byham, the Patriots have released him. Byham had played 29 games over four seasons with San Francisco and Tampa Bay with eight starts. He compiled 11 receptions as mostly a blocker during that time.

(9/22/2013) The Buccaneers were down tight ends Tom Crabtree and Luke Stocker for the Week 3 game at New England. They had to get some other options into the act at the position.

Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman found tight end Timothy Wright for one catch for 6 yards on two targets. Starter Nate Byham had one catch for 3 yards in the game on one target. The Bucs play against Arizona Week 4 and will look to get healthy again at the TE position.

(9/22/2013) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have listed two tight ends as inactive for Week 3 at New England. Both Tom Crabtree, who has an ankle injury, and Luke Stocker, who is dealing with a hip issue, are out against the Patriots. The Bucs are expected to start Nate Byham at tight end in the game.

(9/15/2013) The Buccaneers received minor offensive contributions from a few role players Week 2 against the Saints.

Running back Brian Leonard finished with one carry for no gain and backup tight end Nate Byham caught one pass for a 34-yard gain in a 16-14 defeat.

The Buccaneers will travel to New England for a Week 3 showdown against the Patriots.

(9/8/2013) Buccaneers running back Brian Leonard, tight end Nate Byham and wide receiver Kevin Ogletree all contributed in Sunday's Week 1 loss at the Jets. 

While Ogletree didn't come down with a catch on two targets, Leonard went for 4 yards on one grab. He was targeted just once. Byham, also targeted once, caught one pass for 1 yard. The Bucs play at home against the Saints Week 2.
