Will Witherspoon: Kenny Britt will 'blossom into a star'

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/11/2014) Former Rams linebacker Will Witherspoon believes the team will reap major rewards from the signing of receiver Kenny Britt "I think the addition of Kenny Britt will be a huge boost for the Rams offense," Witherspoon told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I expect him to blossom into a star."

Britt, 25, is trying to resurrect his career after making just 11 catches last season with Tennessee.

Kenny Britt still learning Schottenheimer's system

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/18/2014) While Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer spoke glowingly of receiver Kenny Britt, he did temper his enthusiasm by saying the veteran receiver had a lot of work in front of him.

"He's doing a great job," Schottenheimer said. "Still learning the system. It's been a little different for him, but each day he makes one or two big plays. It's kind of a big-man's game, that's what it's gone to. Very, very pleased with what he's done so far."

Britt had 11 catches for 96 yards and no touchdowns with the Titans last season but caught 16 scoring passes in the previous three seasons combined and has an existing relationship with Rams coach Jeff Fisher.

Kenny Britt savoring fresh start

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(6/6/2014) Receiver Kenny Britt is cherishing his fresh start with the Rams.

"It’s everything to me, to tell you the truth," Britt told ESPN.com. "My mind is free and relaxed right now. I’m taking this year as a rookie year, like when I first came into the league. That’s my mind state right now."

Britt has shown explosion and deep speed in OTAs, the report said.

Kenny Britt has 'good feel' for Rams offense

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/6/2014) Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Thursday that receiver Kenny Britt kept himself in good shape this offseason and doesn't have any setbacks. He also feels like he's close to Britt and his relationship with him has helped him along.

"I stayed in touch with Kenny during my year off when he was rehabbing," Fisher said. "We spent some time together and I tried to help him get some things behind him. He did. He's got everything straightened out now. ... I think he’s back there physically right now. He's picked the offense up and has a good feel for what we're doing."

Signing Kenny Britt a 'smart gamble' for Rams

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4/1/2014) The addition of receiver Kenny Britt was a "smart gamble" for the Rams because he's getting little guaranteed money on a one-year deal and should be motivated to earn a bigger contract, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Britt enjoyed his best seasons in Tennessee when Rams coach Jeff Fisher was coaching the Titans. "That positive history can only help," the report said.

Britt's arrival also puts pressure on Chris Givens and Brian Quick to raise their games or risk losing snaps on the outside, the report said.

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/25/2014) Rams general manager Les Snead said there's a "better than 50 percent" chance he'll sign free agent receiver Kenny Britt, reports Pro Football Talk. Britt's arrival would reunite him with coach Jeff Fisher, who drafted Britt in the first round for the Titans in 2009.

Rams checking into Kenny Britt

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(3/14/2014) The Rams will bring in Kenny Britt for a visit this week, NFL Network reports. There's a connection there as St. Louis head coach Jeff Fisher was in charge of the Titans when they drafted Britt back in the 2009 draft.

Britt followed up a solid second NFL season in 2010 with three touchdowns and nearly 300 yards in three 2011 games when he tore his ACL and missed the season. Before and since then he's had run-ins with the law and has also suffered other injuries. Last year Britt landed in the dog house of then-Titans head coach Mike Munchak and barely played, catching 11 passes for 96 yards.

Suitors lining up for Kenny Britt

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(3/13/2014) Kenny Britt might have fizzled out with the Titans but it hasn't stopped other teams from chasing after him in free agency. A league source tells ProFootballTalk.com that four or five teams are interested in him.

The Redskins have been linked to Britt but no other teams have been reportedly on his trail. ProFootballTalk speculates the Rams and Patriots could check him out. He caught 11 passes for 96 yards in 12 games in 2013.

Redskins eyeing Kenny Britt, Andrew Hawkins

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/11/2014) The Redskins are interested in free agent receiver Kenny Britt and restricted free agent wideout Andrew Hawkins, reports ESPN.com. Britt is leaving the Titans after five up-and-down seasons. Hawkins was given a low tender by the Bengals, meaning Washington would not have to give up compensation if it signed him.

The report said Hawkins' arrival likely would mean the end of Santana Moss' career in Washington.

Nate Washington still believes in Kenny Britt

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/27/2014) Receiver Kenny Britt's career has taken a downward spiral, and the Titans have no interest in re-signing him. But teammate Nate Washington believes Britt has better days ahead, both on and off the field.

“He's made tremendous strides in his life and I'm pretty sure when he gets that opportunity again, he'll seize it,” Washington told the Tennessean. “But he's doing great. He loves his family. We all make mistakes, big or small, but all you can do is look forward to tomorrow. That's what he's doing, moving on and being a better man to his wife and his kids.”

Titans have no interest in re-signing Kenny Britt

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/21/2014) The Tennessean reports the Titans have no plans to bring back wide receiver Kenny Britt. He caught 11 passes for 96 yards in 12 games in 2013.

Britt has been arrested a number of times and has suffered a number of injuries including a torn ACL in 2011.

Patriots have decisions to make at receiver

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/14/2014) The Patriots have to make some decisions at receiver this offseason, reports the Boston Herald

The first is deciding to pay free agent Julian Edelman. The report says Edelman might want a contract similar to what Danny Amendola got last season (five years and a max value of $31 million). But the Patriots will probably offer Edelman something similar to their offer to Wes Welker (two years, $10 million). Based on that, the report expects Edelman to chase the money elsewhere.

Amendola is safe this offseason despite a down year, but he could be released after the 2014 season if he struggles again. The team hopes the three second-year receivers of Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins and Josh Boyce continue to develop, and getting Rob Gronkowski (ACL) back at 100 percent is vital.

The Patriots also could look at receivers in free agency, especially if Edelman leaves, and they could be in play for Eric Decker, Jeremy Maclin or Hakeem Nicks. Or if Edelman returns, the Patriots could still add someone like Brandon LaFell, Nate Burleson, Riley Cooper or Kenny Britt.

Kenny Britt excited about fresh start

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12/30/2013) Titans receiver Kenny Britt, who's spent his entire five-year career with Tennessee, said a part of him is sad to leave Nashville, reports the Tennessean. But the free agent is excited about a fresh start after catching 11 passes for 96 yards in 12 games this year.

Britt said he doesn't feel he got a fair shake from the coaching staff, that when he dropped balls early the team moved on too quickly, the report added. Still only 25, Britt has plenty to prove as he hits the open market. His best season came in 2010 when he caught 42 balls for 775 yards and nine touchdowns.

Kenny Britt guarantees big 2014

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/26/2013) Disappointing Titans receiver Kenny Britt has vowed to be a top wideout in Tennessee or elsewhere next season.

"I'm going to tell you: I'm going to be a No. 1 receiver somewhere else if I'm not here, and that is guaranteed," he told The Tennesseean. "I am definitely going to be a receiver that plays on Sundays and makes something happen for a team."

Britt hasn't made anything happen for the Titans this season. He has just 11 catches for 96 yards this season and was removed as a starter after Week 3.

Kenny Britt could be healthy scratch on Sunday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/5/2013) The continued lack of production from Titans wideout Kenny Britt could have him inactive for the Sunday game at Denver, The Tennesseean has speculated. The return of Damian Williams from a hip injury might result in Britt being forced out.

Titans gets several contributions from key role players in Week 12

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/24/2013) The Titans received several contributions from role players during Week 12 against the Raiders.

Running back Collin Mooney caught and tight end Taylor Thompson all had one catch and one target. Mooney finished with 6 yards and Thompson had 4 yards. Kenny Britt was targeted twice and was held without a grab in a 23-19 victory.
