Bears DST comes up big

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/15/2014) Overlooked after a poor Week 1 performance, the Bears DST came up big Sunday night at San Francisco. Chicago forced four turnovers by Colin Kaepernick, with rookie corner Kyle Fuller making two fourth-quarter interceptions.

Defensive end Jared Allen forced a fumble, safety Danny McCray recovering. Safety Chris Conte made his second interception of the season before leaving with a shoulder injury. Defensive end Willie Young led a strong pass rush with four sacks.

Riding a lot of momentum, the rejuvenated Bears DST visits the Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 3.

(8/1/2014) Five-time Pro Bowler Adrian Wilson and Danny McCray worked as the Bears' starting safeties Friday, but both positions are truly up for grabs, reports ESPN.com. Ryan Mundy, Brock Vereen and M.D. Jennings also have taken snaps with the starters.

Cowboys concerned about hamstring injuries

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/4/2014) Twelve Cowboys suffered hamstring injuries of varying severity in 2013, reports ESPN.com. The list consisted of Miles Austin, Morris Claiborne, Sean Lee, Justin Durant, Dwayne Harris, Bruce Carter, Danny McCray, Barry Church, Dez Bryant, Lance Dunbar, Gavin Escobar and Terrance Williams.

Coach Jason Garrett is looking at other teams' approaches to find a solution. He might cut back the time players spend on the field early in the offseason, the report said.

“It is valuable to do the football stuff. We don’t feel like there’s a lot of football stuff right now,” Garrett told the website. “We want to be careful about how much we take away from that. But there’s a couple weeks prior to all that stuff starting. We’ve talked about tweaking the daily schedule and what we’re doing those first couple weeks as we start to lay the foundation for the offseason.”
