Redskins injury report dominated by probables for Sunday

(10/31/2014) The Redskins are in fine shape heading into their Week 9 game in Minnesota. Nine of the 10 players on their Friday injury report have been deemed probable, including quarterback Robert Griffin III (ankle). Only cornerback Bashaud Breeland (knee) is questionable.

The other probables are safety Ryan Clark (ankle/shoulder), linebackers Perry Riley, Jr. (knee), Keenan Robinson (shoulder), Ryan Kerrigan (wrist) and Trent Murphy (knee), cornerback Tracy Porter (hamstring) and tackle Trent Williams (knee).

(10/27/2014) Redskins running back Alfred Morris, who was probable with an ankle injury, is active as expected for Monday's game at Dallas. Other Redskins suiting up include nose tackle Chris Baker (thigh), safety Ryan Clark (ankle, shoulder), cornerback Tracy Porter (hamstring), linebacker Perry Riley (knee) and left tackle Trent Williams (knee).

Robert Griffin questionable on final Redskins Week 8 injury report

(10/25/2014) Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (ankle) is listed as questionable on the team's final Week 8 injury report for Monday's matchup with the Cowboys.

Griffin hasn't played since Week 2 while recovering from a dislocated ankle, but he was able to get three limited practices under his belt this week. Even with the questionable tag, Colt McCoy is expected to start Monday night.

Cornerback Tracy Porter (hamstring) is also listed as questionable after being limited in practice all week. Safety Ryan Clark (ankle, shoulder) was limited in practice all week as well but is listed as probable. The team's other probables include running back Alfred Morris (ankle), defensive lineman Chris Baker (thigh), linebacker Perry Riley (knee) and offensive tackles Trent Williams (knee) and Tyler Polumbus (knee), all of whom practiced in full Saturday.

(10/17/2014) The Redskins listed 10 players on their final injury report for Sunday's Week 7 clash against the Titans. Robert Griffin III (ankle), Akeem Jordan (knee) and Tracy Porter (hamstring) were the only three to be officially ruled out for the game.

Deemed questionable were David Amerson (concussion), Ryan Clark (ankle) and Perry Riley Jr. (knee). Brian Orakpo (ankle), Trenton Robinson (ankle), Trent Williams (knee) and Darrel Young (hamstring) were all officially ruled probable for Sunday.

(10/12/2014) The Redskins have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Cardinals: quarterback Robert Griffin III (ankle), wide receiver Aldrick Robinson, guard Spencer Long, tackle Morgan Moses, cornerback CB Tracy Porter (hamstring) and linebackers Perry Riley (knee) and Jackson Jeffcoat.

Griffin and Porter were previously ruled out, but Riley carried a questionable tag before being deemed inactive for the game. On the positive side, tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring), safety Ryan Clark (ankle), linebacker Brian Orakpo (ankle) and tackle Trent Williams (knee) are all active after being listed as questionable on the team's final injury report.

The Redskins had several players with a probable designation who are active for Week 6, including defensive ends Kedric Golston (groing) and Jason Hatcher (hamstring), defensive tackle Frank Kearse (thigh), linebacker Akeem Jordan (knee), safety Trenton Robinson (ankle) guard Shawn Lauvao (knee) and tackle Tyler Polumbus (finger).

(10/7/2014) Redskins linebacker Perry Riley sprained the MCL in his left knee in Monday's loss to the Seahawks, reports the Washington Post. Coach Jay Gruden told the paper the team is "concerned" about Riley, who led the team with 115 tackles last year.

Riley is not expected to practice Wednesday. The severity of his sprain remains unclear.

Riley has posted over 110 total tackles and at least 3.0 sacks in each of his last two seasons with the Redskins. He should remain a starter with them, especially with linebacker London Fletcher retiring.

(8/28/2013) Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has revealed some changes to the team's pass-rushing packages during the preseason.

In some third-down situations, Haslett has utilized six linebackers to take advantage of the talent at the position. Haslett has had linebackers Ryan Kerrigan and Darryl Tapp lined up in three-point stances, Brian Orakpo and Brandon Jenkins at their outside linebacker positions, and London Fletcher and Perry Riley as inside linebackers as always.

Haslett is carrying through on his vision to use all of his top pass rushers at the same time.

"Just something to try to get a little more speed on the field. We are just trying some things out right now," Haslett said, per The Washington Post. "Obviously, when we get into the regular season, who we’re playing, when we’re playing, how we’re playing them, the teams we’re playing will dictate what we can do. We ran it last week, wanted to see what it looked like and I thought those guys did a nice job with it."
