Injury busts Brackett's season

News: Jackonsville tight end Brett Brackett was placed on season-ending injury reserve Tuesday, less than a week after he signed with the team. The Jaguars signed tight end Colin Cloherty to take his place on the active roster.
Analysis: Brackett spent time on the Jaguars' practice squad in 2011, but was only expected to provide depth for the team's thinning tight end unit. Fantasy owners should leave him untouched in all Fantasy formats at this point.

Brackett lands with Jaguars

News: The Jaguars continued shaping their roster for the upcoming season and waived/injured tight end Zach Miller while claiming tight end Brett Brackett off waivers from Philadelphia. Miller sustained a calf injury late in the preseason and has been sidelined since.
Analysis: Beckett, a Penn State product, has spent time with Miami, Jacksonville and Philadelphia. He spent a few days on the Jaguars' practice squad in 2011. With Miller out and reserve tight end Matt Veldman on injured reserve, the Jaguars were looking for help at the position. However, Beckett is not expected to make a major Fantasy statement and should be ignored in all formats.

Philly takes out 16 players

News: The Eagles continued trimming their roster in preparation for the regular season Friday and released the following players: defensive backs Phillip Thomas, Joselio Hanson and Oshiomogho Atogwe; tight ends Emil Igwenagu, Chase Ford and Brett Brackett; linebackers Ryan Rau, Adrian Moten and Keenan Clayton; wide receivers Mardy Gilyard, Marvin McNutt and Chad Hall; and defensive linemen Ollie Ogbu, Landon Cohen, Monte Taylor and Frank Trotter.
Analysis: Some of these players were able to make an early impression in training camp and survive the first round of cuts. However, neither of them were ultimately expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left on waivers at this point.

Dolphins cut down to final look

News: The Dolphins reached the decision on the final 53 players they will carry heading into the season, so they let several players go. Among the released were QBs Kevin O’ Connell and Pat Devlin, CB Vincent Agnew, TE Brett Brackett, WR Patrick Carter, TE Dedrick Epps, LB Jonathan Freeny, RB Nic Grigsby, WR Phillip Livas, WR John Matthews, CB Nate Ness, LB David Nixon, WR Julius Pruitt, S Mark Restelli, LB Robert Rose, TE Mickey Shuler, LB Quinton Spears, S Gerald Alexander, CB Will Allen, FB Lousaka Polite and NT Ronald Fields.
Analysis: Most of the players mentioned above were battling for reserve spots on the roster while a few veterans were just too much to hold on to. Either way, none of the options were expected to make a big Fantasy impact in 2011, so ignore all of them on Draft Day.
