News: Washington receiver Terrence Austin caught all three targets that came his way from QB Rex Grossman on Saturday against the Vikings. Austin caught three passes for 39 yards and no scores in the Week 16 loss. Austin's long catch went for 23 yards.
Analysis: Austin got back onto the stat sheet for the first time since Week 9 against San Francisco against the Vikings on Saturday. That said, that is precisely the reason Fantasy owners do not need to care about him heading into the regular-season finale Week 17 at Philadelphia. Austin is not considered a viable Fantasy option most weeks.
News: Redskins receiver Terrence Austin did little in the Week 9 loss to the 49ers. Austin finished the game with two catches for 14 yards and did not have a catch at halftime for the Redskins and QB John Beck. Austin, who was targeted by Beck five times, lost a fumble late in the game.
Analysis: With each passing week it becomes more and more painfully obvious that the Redskins' passing game is a joke. Fantasy owners cannot rely on any of the Redskins' receiving weapons, especially as Santana Moss continues to miss time. Austin is not a major part of the passing game. The Redskins play at Miami in Week 10 and the Dolphins are actually pretty bad at limiting the Fantasy production of opposing receivers. A wide receiver has caught a touchdown pass against the Dolphins in every game this season, but that could seriously come to an end Week 10 against Washington. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Austin in Fantasy play.
News: Washington receiver Terrence Austin didn't really have much to work with in the Week 8 loss against Buffalo. Austin was targeted a handful of times by QB John Beck, but came down with just two catches for 22 yards in the game. Austin had a long reception of 17 yards and did not score in the game.
Analysis: Austin only just recorded his first grab of the season in the Week 6 game against the Eagles. He's definitely gained value as his role has expanded in the Washington offense. With Santana Moss injured, Austin should continue getting looks from Beck. That said, Austin has done nothing to prove himself a viable Fantasy option just yet. Austin should continue to be ignored heading into Week 9 against San Francisco.
News: Washington WR Terrence Austin was needed on Sunday of Week 7 at Carolina. With Santana Moss injuring his hand in the game, Austin emerged as a viable option for QB John Beck in the second half. Austin finished the game with three catches for 26 yards for the Redskins.
Analysis: Austin recorded his first catch of the season Week 6 against the Eagles as he caught one pass for 32 yards in that game. Austin might begin to see more looks going forward, especially if Moss needs to miss time. Still, Austin needs to prove a whole lot more before we can call him a viable Fantasy option. Fantasy owners can leave him on waivers heading into Week 8 at Buffalo.
News: Washington receiver Terrence Austin finished the Week 6 loss against Philadelphia with one reception. Austin hooked up with John Beck for 32 yards late in the game. He was only targeted the one time.
Analysis: Austin's huge 32-yard catch to inside the red zone gave the Redskins the opportunity to score their first touchdown in the Week 6 game. That said, he might see a boost with Beck at QB going forward, but it will be a minimal one, at best. Austin remains a Fantasy receiver to avoid heading into Week 7 at Carolina.
News: Redskins WR Terrence Austin continued to make an impression on the offense in Thursday's game against the Ravens. He led the team in receiving with five catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. Austin hauled in the score after taking a WR screen 13 yards after John Beck quickly got the ball in his hands.
Analysis: Austin had an impressive day receiving and he also helped in the return game as he often does. His small size makes it tough for the team to keep him around with fellow undersized WRs like Santana Moss, Anthony Armstrong and Brandon Banks on the team -- but his play speaks for itself. Austin should be able to crack Washington's 53-man roster, but he remains an injury or two away from Fantasy consideration even in deep leagues. Stay tuned.
News: Redskins WR Terrence Austin saw his most extended action of the season in Week 17 against the Giants. Austin was targeted three times in the 17-14 loss and finished with two receptions for 41 yards.
Analysis: Austin is a rookie out of UCLA, who hasn't seen much playing time this season. He has great speed, but is still way too unproven to warrant any Fantasy value at this time. Austin will most likely remain an afterthought on Draft Day next year.
News: The Washington Redskins waived WR Joey Galloway on Saturday and signed Terrence Austin off the practice squad for Week 12 against the Vikings.
Analysis: Austin could see some catches right away against the Vikings. Still, don't count on him for Fantasy production in his first game Week 12.
News: Washington promoted WR Terrence Austin on Saturday in preparation for Week 11 in Tennessee.
Analysis: Austin might play on Sunday but he doesn't have any Fantasy value at this time. We don't expect Donovan McNabb to be looking his way too often.
News: Washington added WR Terrence Austin to the practice squad on Sunday.
Analysis: Austin is not expected to see much of the field for the Redskins this season. Fantasy owners can keep him off rosters.
News: Redskins rookie WR Terrence Austin is having a productive camp. A seventh-round pick, Austin has caught just about everything thrown his way. He's not a burner; he's quick, runs good routes and has excellent vision. And with the Redskins' receiving corps unimpressive thus far, he has a shot to make the team and earn a decent role.
Analysis: Austin will be worth watching in preseason games. We doubt he cracks the starting lineup but he might earn reps here and there. Austin is worth a late-round pick in the deepest of dynasty/keeper leagues and in rookie-only drafts.
