Kai Forbath hits three field goals

(12/22/2013) Washington kicker Kai Forbath hit three field goals Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Forbath hit field goals in all but the third quarter. He had successful attempts from 22, 36 and 47 yards out. He also had two extra points. Forbath will take on the Giants Week 17.


Kai Forbath benefits from quarterback change

(12/15/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath, who had averaged just 4.7 points over his last seven games with Robert Griffin III running the offense, scored eight with Kirk Cousins making his first start at quarterback Week 15 at Atlanta. He kicked a 33-yard field goal and a 37-yard field goal -- both in the second quarter. He also had two extra points.

The Redskins host the Cowboys in Week 16.


Kai Forbath boots a 50-yarder

(12/8/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath had another quiet afternoon Week 14 against the Chiefs, making just one field goal and one extra point. The field goal was a season-long 50-yarder, though.

Forbath has scored fewer than seven points in six of his last seven games. The Redskins visit the Falcons in Week 15.

(11/26/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath was not asked to do much during Monday night's loss to the 49ers in Week 12.

Forbath converted a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 35-yard shot as time expired in the first half. He would not be needed for the remainder of the game. He finished 2 for 2 in field goal attempts in a 27-6 defeat.

(11/17/2013) After a slow start, the Redskins did manage to score some points Week 11 at Philadelphia, but kicker Kai Forbath wasn't a part of it. Trailing by mulitiples of eight, the Redskins went for two on both of their touchdowns. It marked the first time Forbath was shut out this year, though he did score only three points twice.

The Redskins host the 49ers in Week 12.

(11/8/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath hit both field goals he attempted Thursday during the Week 10 loss to Minnesota. Forbath hit a 20-yarder and a 40-yarder in the loss. 

Forbath was 2 for 2 on FGs and 3 for 3 on PATs to finish the game with nine points scored. He doesn't often get to double figures for the Redskins. Washington plays at Philadelphia during the Week 11 game next Sunday.

(11/3/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath had two field goals blocked on Sunday during the Week 9 overtime win over the Chargers. It wasn't even Forbath who won the game in the OT, as Washington ran the ball in for the game-winning touchdown. 

Forbath was 1 for 3 on field goals and nailed a 47-yarder. He added three extra points and finished with six points scored. 

Forbath has only scored in double figures once this season for Washington. The Redskins next play on Thursday of Week 10 at Minnesota.

(10/20/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath just missed scoring in double figures during the Week 7 home win over the Bears Sunday. Forbath finished the 45-41 win with nine points.

Forbath connected on his only field goal attempt from 38 yards out. He was 6 for 6 on PATs during the game.

Forbath was playing in only his third game of the season after dealing with an injury. He has gone 4 for 6 thus far on the year. The Redskins play at Denver Week 8.

(10/14/2013) Redskins kicker Kai Forbath registered 10 points during Sunday night's loss to the Cowboys in Week 6.

Forbath converted a 20-yard shot in the first quarter, a 32-yard kick at the end of the first half and a 33-yard attempt in the third quarter. He sailed a 49-yard attempt wide left in the fourth quarter for his only miss of the night. He finished 3 of 4 field goal attempts and 1 of 1 in extra points in a 31-16 defeat.

(9/16/2013) Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Monday kicker Kai Forbath, who sat out Week 2 with a groin injury, won't be rushed to kick. He said he might not know anything about his status for Week 3 vs. Detroit until Friday.

Shanahan said he doesn't know if the Redskins will keep John Potter, who handle the placekicking duties Week 2, until Forbath returns.

"It all depends. I can't tell you exactly what we're going to do," Shanahan said.
