Tim Barnes, Barrett Jones, Demetrius Rhaney vying for Rams center job

(6/13/2015) As the Rams start the final week of OTAs, three players are still battling in a wide-open race to be starting center. 

Tim Barnes, Barrett Jones and Demetrius Rhaney are vying for the job, and the competition will liekly last far into training camp. 

"We’re not going to make a decision real early,” coach Jeff Fisher said, per StLToday.com. “We’ll let them all play. We’re rotating them. They’re all getting opportunities to work with (QBNick Foles), so he’s familiar, not only with the exchanges, but also the communication. We’ll make that decision when somebody shows us he’s earned the job."


Rams have agreed to terms with OL Tim Barnes

(3/30/2015) The Rams have agreed to terms with offensive lineman Tim Barnes, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The one-year deal has a maximum value of $1 million. 

Barnes recently visited had a visit with the Chiefs before signing with the Rams. The 26-year-old spent all three of his previous seasons with the Rams, starting four of the 45 games he appeared in.

(3/30/2015) Free-agent interior lineman Tim Barnes is visiting the Chiefs Monday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Barnes played just nine snaps on offense for the Rams last season but also has experience on special teams.

Report: Rams don't make tender offer to Tim Barnes

(3/6/2015) The Rams didn't make a tender offer to restricted free agent Tim Barnes, according to a report by Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

That means that the offensive lineman will become an unrestricted free agent on March 10, and the Rams wouldn't get any compensatory draft picks, if he signs with another team. 

The Rams can still bring Barnes back by re-signing him on the open market.


Rams' Donald, Dunbar, McLeod active Week 9

(11/2/2014) Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald (shoulder), linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar (toe) and safety Rodney McLeod (knee) are active for Sunday's Week 9 matchup with the 49ers.

All three players were listed as questionable to play but will be available for the divisional matchup. The team also had nine players listed as probable, and eight are active for the game. That list includes wide receiver Kenny Britt (hip), guard Rodger Saffold (shoulder), centers Scott Wells (elbow) and Tim Barnes (shoulder), defensive end William Hayes (foot), safety Lamarcus Joyner (hip) and cornerbacks Trumaine Johnson (knee) and Marcus Roberson (ankle).

(10/31/2014) The Rams have listed DE William Hayes, OG Rodger Saffold, C Scott Wells, S Cody Davis, CB Trumaine Johnson, C Tim Barnes, CB Marcus Roberson and DB Lamarcus Joyner as probable for Week 9 against the 49ers. 

All eight players were able to get through full practice Friday. Saffold is dealing with a shoulder injury. Wells has an elbow issues. Johnson has been battling a knee injury.

(10/24/2014) Cornerbacks Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson are questionable with knee injuries, according to the injury report released Friday by the Rams for their Sunday game at Kansas City.

The only other non-probables are defensive back Brandon McGee (foot) and center Tim Barnes (shoulder). Both have been ruled out.

Deemed probable are wideout Kenny Britt (ankle), running back Benny Cunningham (knee), linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar (toe), defensive linemen Ethan Westbrooks (hand) and William Hayes (illness), safety T.J. McDonald (concussion), tackle Rodger Saffold (knee) and kicker Greg Zuerlein (illness).

(10/17/2014) The Rams have listed wide receiver Austin Pettis (ankle), running back Zac Stacy (ankle), defensive tackle Alex Carrington (knee), running back Chase Reynolds (thigh) and offensive lineman Barrett Jones (back) probable for Week 7 at home against the Seahawks.

Meanwhile, linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar (thigh), defensive end Ethan Westbrooks (hand), cornerback Trumaine Johnson (knee) and cornerback Brandon McGee (foot) all practiced at a limited capacity and were each deemed questionable for Sunday. Center Tim Barnes was the only player ruled doubtful for the divisional clash.
