Report: Patriots sign Marcus Cannon to two-year deal

(12/11/2014) Patriots offensive lineman Marcus Cannon has signed a two-year extension, according to ESPN.

Cannon has battled some injuries this season, but has managed to play in all 13 games. After starting the first three games of the year, Cannon took a backseat, and has been used as a backup. 


Patriots' Brady, Vereen, Edelman, LaFell active Week 14

(12/7/2014) Nine players on the Patriots' final Week 14 injury report are active for Sunday's game against the Chargers, including quarterback Tom Brady (ankle), running back Shane Vereen (ankle) and wide receivers Julian Edelman (thigh) and Brandon LaFell (shoulder).

Brady and tackle Marcus Cannon (hip) were listed as probable, so their absence from the team's inactive list isn't a surprise. Vereen, Edelman and LaFell all carried questionable tags coming into Sunday. Other questionables who are active against the Chargers include center Danny Aiken (concussion), guard Dan Connolly (ankle), defensive tackle Dominique Easley (knee) and cornerback Kyle Arrington (ankle).


Patriots list 10 players questionable for Week 14

(12/5/2014) As expected, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and offensive lineman Marcus Cannon (hip) were the only players deemed probable for Sunday's Week 14 clash against the Chargers. Linebacker Chris White (ankle) was ruled doubtful.

Meanwhile, the following players were designated as questionable for the game: Long snapper Danny Aiken (concussion), cornerback Kyle Arrington (ankle), offensive lineman Dan Connolly (ankle), defensive lineman Dominique Easley (knee), wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh) offensive lineman Cameron Fleming (ankle), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (shoulder), defensive end Chandler Jones (hip), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and running back Shane Vereen (ankle).

All 10 New England players that were listed as questionable were limited participants in practice the entire week leading up to the game.

(11/30/2014) The Patriots will have Tom Brady and Shane Vereen Week 13 against the Packers.

Brady was listed as probable due to an ankle injury. He was always expected to play. Vereen came into the contest listed as questionable. He's also dealing with an ankle injury, but will attempt to play through it. 

The team is also expected to have Danny Aiken, Dan Connolly, Dominique Easley and Brandon LaFell. All four players were also listed as questionable, but will try to play.

Marcus Cannon and Julian Edelman, who were considered probable, are also active for the contest.

(11/28/2014) Eleven Patriots are on their injury report for their Sunday game against Green Bay, but none have been deemed any worse than questionable.

Eight have been given that designation, including running back Shane Vereen (ankle). The others are long snapper Danny Aiken (concussion), offensive linemen Dan Connolly (ankle) and Cameron Fleming (ankle/finger), defensive linemen Chandler Jones (hip) and Dominique Easley (knee), wideout Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and linebacker Chris White (ankle).

The probables are headlined by quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and wide receiver Julian Edelman (thigh). The other is offensive lineman Marcus Cannon (hip).

(11/21/2014) The Patriots have ruled Cameron Fleming (ankle, finger) and Chandler Jones (hip) out for Sunday's game against Detroit, according to New England's final injury report released Friday.

Deemed questionable were Marcus Cannon (hip), Dominique Easley (knee) and Nate Ebner (finger). As expected, Tom Brady (ankle), Julian Edelman (thigh) and Jonas Gray (not injury related) were ruled as probable for Week 12.

(10/1/2014) The Patriots started two rookies on the offensive line Monday for the first time since 2005. Cameron Fleming started at right guard and Bryan Stork started at center; both were fourth-round picks.

Dan Connolly started the first three games at center before starting at left guard against the Chiefs. The shuffling continued throughout the blowout loss as New England sought to find a combination that could protect Tom Brady. Left tackle Nate Solder was beaten badly on Tamba Hali's strip-sack in the third quarter, then got benched for Marcus Cannon.
