Julius Thomas, Virgil Green getting chances with Broncos

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/7/2013) With injuries to tight ends Joel Dreessen (knee surgery) and Jacob Tamme (quad), the Denver Post reports Julius Thomas and Virgil Green are getting first-team reps and making the most of them.

Thomas has worked as the receiving tight end with the Broncos, a role he's barely had the chance to play in the pros because of injuries and depth at the position. He has one catch in nine games through two seasons.

Green, more of a blocking tight end, has played plenty but has just eight catches over 27 games.

Tamme could return later this week, filling one spot with the starters. It is not yet known who would take Dreessen's reps in practice once Tamme returns.
