Report: TE Virgil Green staying with Broncos

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/10/2015) Free agent tight end Virgil Green told the Bears he'll re-sign with the Broncos on a three-year deal, reports the Denver Post. Green drew interest from multiple teams but apparently won't pass up a chance to start in Denver with Julius Thomas expected to leave for Jacksonville.

Green will get a three-year deal, worth $8.4 million with $4.2 million guaranteed.

In 13 games last season, Green, 26, caught six passes for 74 yards and a touchdown.

Multiple teams interested in TE Virgil Green

(3/9/2015) Tight end Virgil Green is drawing interest from multiple teams, per CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.

It is reported that the Bears and Broncos are the two teams that it should come down to, but there are other teams interested.

The 26-year-old was drafted by the Broncos in the seventh-round of the 2011 draft. His career stats include 23 receptions for 206 yards with one touchdown.

Virgil Green deciding between Broncos, 6-to-8 other teams

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(3/8/2015) Though the Broncos have offered tight end Virgil Green a multi-year contract, he told The Denver Post that he is not inclined to accept it just yet.

Green and his agent are weighing options from six-to-eight teams that are considered contenders for his services. Up to 13 teams have reached out to his representation to inquire about him.

"The Broncos have talked to me. They didn't tell me what my role would be, but they made it clear how valuable I was to them," Green told the newspaper, "I love playing in Denver, and I love the fans. But I can't make the decision just based on that. I appreciate the offer, but I don't want to react too quickly until I know how other teams see me."

Green only caught six passes for 74 yards and one touchdown but is known as one of the NFL's top blocking tight ends.

"I'd love for J.T. to play. I really don't know where he's at right now, but if he doesn't go, I feel like it's an opportunity for me to show that I'm not just a blocking tight end," Green said. "I can catch. People know I can run the ball as well, so it's an opportunity for me and I have to jump all over it."
