The only healthy tight end on the roster, Brandon Pettigrew, injured his ankle on Sunday against New Orleans.

Davis caught three passes in 15 appearances last season for the Seahawks. He has yet to play a game this season.

Giants leaning toward committee approach at tight end

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(6/23/2014) Adrien Robinson hasn't separated himself from the Giants' other tight ends, and the team "probably" will go with a committee approach, reports The Star-Ledger.

"I think the jury is still out on who the No. 1 tight end is, I think it'll probably be tight end by committee," general manager Jerry Reese said on WFAN. "But there are some really good tight ends, some athletic, big guys who can run and catch the ball.

"Adrien Robinson and Larry Donnell are a couple of young guys who have been on the squad for a couple of years, but have had some injury stuff going on with them. We expect them to be healthy and to be able to pick up the slack here."

Daniel Fells, Xavier Grimble and Kellen Davis are the other tight ends on the roster.

Emery: Davis needs to improve

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(1/2/2013) Bears GM Phil Emery said Monday tight end Kellen Davis needs to improve and be more of an asset in 2013 if he's going to remain in the offense. "Kellen had a rough year," Emery said. "The Kellen Davis that I saw caught the ball in the end zone the previous year. A high percentage of his total career catches, which were not that high, were end zone catches. (He was) reliable in that area. (He made a) huge catch against Green Bay. Has shown the ability. Just for whatever reason, hasn't been able to be consistent. I know that's an area that he's gonna work on. He's capable of improving, and I know he wants to improve."
