News: The Jaguars waived eight players to reduce their roster to 82 players, according to the Sports Xchange. Among the cuts was seventh-year cornerback Ashton Youboty, who was signed midseason in 2011 and started five games for Jacksonville's injury-ravaged secondary. Also waived were second-year players in wide receiver Chastin West and quarterback Nathan Enderle, three first-year players in linebacker Nate Bussey, running back DuJuan Harris and cornerback Mike Holmes and two rookies in offensive tackle Dan Hoch and linebacker Donovan Richard.
Analysis: Enderle was a rookie last season and almost was needed to make an impact. That never came to fruition, however, and now he needs to find a new situation. He has low-end Fantasy value and is likely to end up on some team's practice squad.
News: Bears QB Caleb Hanie fell to 0-4 as a starter this season following Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. He has thrown nine interceptions in the process, prompting speculation that Chicago might make a change at quarterback. "Right now, Caleb Hanie is our starting quarterback," said Smith, who hinted that might change between now and Wednesday's practice. Nathan Enderle is backing up Hanie while Jay Cutler (thumb) is out, and Josh McCown is third on the depth chart. "This isnt a tryout period, either. Were trying to win a football game," Smith said when asked about starting Enderle.
Analysis: Enderle is a rookie out of Idaho that has yet to throw a pass in a regular-season game. However, Hanie hasn't been very good in his four starts, so Enderle might not be that much worse of an option. Even if Enderle gets the start, are you really going to use him in Fantasy with a championship on the line? Look to better alternatives in Fantasy.
News: Bears QB Nathan Enderle, a rookie out of Idaho who has spent the last two weeks as the team's primary backup for Caleb Hanie, was inactive for Week 14 at Denver, as the Bears opted to go with veteran Josh McCown in the backup role.
Analysis: Enderle has yet to attempt a pass this season, and has no value. Even when he was the primary backup, it was likely that the team would have opted to go with the recently signed McCown. Enderle is not worthy of a roster spot in any Fantasy league.
News: The Bears were able to sign former Idaho quarterback Nathan Enderle to a four-year deal on Wednesday. They drafted him with the 160th overall pick of the NFL draft. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder had 22 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions last season. He was 17-29 as a starter for the Vandals and finished with 8,181 passing yards and 62 TDs.
Analysis: Enderle is expected to serve as a No. 3/emergency QB for the Bears in 2011 and ultimately learn Mike Martz's offense in case he's ever needed. The QB situation should be all set in front of him as the preseason progresses, so he isn't much of a Fantasy option for now. Ignore Enderle on Draft Day.
