Cardinals G Mike Iupati: I played with broken foot last season

(3/11/2015) During his introductory press conference, Cardinals guard Mike Iupati told reporters he played with a broken foot last season, per ESPN.

Iupati signed a five-year, $40 million deal at the start of free agency. He made the Pro Bowl the past three seasons with San Francisco.

(3/11/2015) The Cardinals announced the signings of three key free agents: guard Mike Iupati (five years), defensive tackle Corey Peters (three years) and linebacker Sean Weatherpoon (one year).

Iupati made the Pro Bowl the past three years with San Francisco. Peters and Weatherspoon come over from the Falcons. Weatherspoon recorded two seasons of 100-plus tackles in his first four years before spending last season on IR with an Achilles injury.

Report: Cardinals sign Mike Iupati to five-year, $40 million deal

(3/10/2015) The Cardinals signed offensive guard Mike Iupati to a five-year, $40 million deal, reports ESPN.

The contract includes $22.5 million in guaranteed money and the deal can increase to $41 million through incentives.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Iupati chose the Cardinals over the Niners, Bills, Jets and Raiders.

(3/8/2015) Four teams are targeting guard Mike Iupati in free agency.

According to CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, the 49ers, Raiders, Jets and Bills are all interested in signing Iupati once the new league year begins on Tuesday. Iupati just finished up his rookie deal following his selection by the 49ers in the 2010 NFL draft. 

However, the 49ers are not considered to be leaders at this time. 

The Vikings are also reportedly interested in Iupati and have reached out to his representation

Iupati has made 75 starts since 2010. He'll be one of the most sought-after guards when the new league year starts.

Thought by many to be the top offensive lineman on the market, Iupati has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons with the 49ers. The Vikings are looking for a new starter at left guard after parting ways with Charlie Johnson.

The Chargers were hit with injuries at the center position and dealt with underwhelming play at the guard position. They ranked 27th in pass blocking and 26th in run blocking in 2014, according to Pro Football Focus.

49ers to have their probables Week 15

Mike Iupati, Ray McDonald and Justin Smith are all active for the contest. Iupati is dealing with an elbow injury. McDonald has a finger issue. Smith is dealing with a back injury.

(12/12/2014) The 49ers have ruled four of the 11 players listed on its final injury report for Week 15 against Seattle. Those four include linebacker NaVorro Bowman (knee), tackle Anthony Davis (concussion), defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey (forearm) and wide receiver Steve Johnson (knee).

Cornerback Tramaine Brock (hamstring), cornerback Chris Culliver (knee), center Marcus Martin (knee) and safety Raymond Ventrone (groin) were deemed questionable.

Meanwhile, guard Mike Iupati (elbow), defensive end Ray McDonald (finger) and defensive end Justin Smith (back) were labeled as probable.

Iupati injured his elbow. The team evaluated Iupati at halftime, and determined that he was questionable to return to the contest.

(10/19/2014) The 49ers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 7 matchup against the Broncos: cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder), guard Mike Iupati (concussion), linebacker Patrick Willis (toe), safety Jimmie Ward (quad), center Marcus Martin, wide receiver Quinton Patton and defensive end Tank Carradine.

Culliver and Ward received questionable designations on the team's final injury report, while Willis was already listed as out. Cornerback Tramaine Brock (toe) and tackle Anthony Davis (knee, ankle) are active after being listed as questionable.

Wide receiver Steve Johnson (hip) and tight end Vernon Davis (back) head the list of players who were listed as probable that are active in Week 7, a list that also includes cornerbacks Chris Cook (quad) and Perrish Cox (quad) as well as defensive linemen Justin Smith (not injury related), Ian Williams (ankle, shoulder) and Tony Jerod-Eddie (shoulder).

(10/17/2014) 49ers guard Mike Iupati, who is still experiencing concussion symptoms, won't have enough time to be cleared before Sunday's game. He was officially ruled out for Week 7 at Denver, per Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

The 49ers have a bye week before returning to action Week 9 at home against St. Louis.

Backup running back Anthony Dixon leaped over his linemen for a touchdown in the second quarter, but landed on Iupati's ankle. Iupati was helped off the field by his teammates and was carted back to the locker room for an X-ray exam, keeping him out for the remainder of the game.

Brown put in limited practice during the week, and is dealing with a rib injury. Both Iupati and Manningham have knee issues.
