(9/28/2014) The Texans have designated the following players as inactive for Sunday's Week 4 matchup with the Bills: quarterback Tom Savage, safeties Shiloh Keo (calf) and Eddie Pleasant (ankle), linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (knee), cornerback A.J. Bouye (groin), wide receiver DeVier Posey and offensive tackle Jeff Adams.

Bouye was questionable to play this week, while Keo, Pleasant and Clowney had all been previously ruled out. Running back Arian Foster (hamstring) and punter Shane Lechler (hip) are active after being listed as questionable. Wide receiver Andre Johnson (ankle), defensive ends Jared Crick (neck) and Tim Jamison (groin), cornerbacks Kareem Jackson (thigh) and Johnathan Joseph (foot/ankle, neck), safety D.J. Swearinger (elbow, hip) and guard Ben Jones (knee) are all active for the game.

(9/26/2014) The Texans have issued their typically extensive injury report for their Sunday game against Buffalo with linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (knee) and safeties Shiloh Keo (calf) and Eddie Pleasant (ankle) ruled out.

Listed as questionable are cornerback A.J. Bouye (groin), featured back Arian Foster (hamstring) and punter Shane Lechler (hip).

The rest are probable. They are defensive ends Tim Jamison (groin) and Jared Crick (neck), cornerbacks Johnathan Joseph (foot/neck/knee) and Kareem Jackson (thigh), wideout Andre Johnson (ankle), guard Ben Jones (knee) and safety D.J. Swearinger (elbow/hip).

Most of the other players are their extensive injury report are probable, though featured back Arian Foster (hamstring), offensive lineman Ben Jones (ankle/knee) and safety D.J. Swearinger (elbow) are questionable.

They are cornerbacks Kareem Jackson (ribs), Johnathan Joseph (groin), Brice McCain (groin) and Josh Victorian (back). The safeties are Shiloh Keo (illness) and D.J. Swearinger (foot).

Texans defense largely healthy Thursday

(12/5/2013) The Texans' injury report for Week 14 featured a lengthy list of injured defenders, but all but one player from that side of the ball was able to take the field Thursday against the Jaguars. While defensive back Jawanza Starling (foot) was inactive prior to kickoff, 11 other injured players were able to play through their issues.

Defensive lineman Antonio Smith (not injury related), linebackers Joe Mays (knee), Mike Mohamed (hamstring), Darryl Sharpton (knee), Whitney Mercilus (hip) and Jeff Tarpinian (groin), and defensive backs Brice McCain (hamstring), Johnathan Joseph (groin), Kareem Jackson (ribs), D.J. Ed Reed forced to accept role as backup

(11/8/2013) Texans future Hall of Fame free safety Ed Reed might have started his last game in the NFL. He has been officially replaced as the starter by Shiloh Keo, who assumed that role in Week 9.

Reed, who worked primarily in dime packages, told the Houston Chronicle on Friday that the last time he was a healthy non-starter was as a college sophomore. But he added that he will accept his new role.
