Dwight Lowery makes good first impression

(9/7/2014) Defensive back Dwight Lowery, who is beginning his first year with the Falcons after spending the last three with the Jaguars, was among the team's top tacklers Week 1 against the Saints. He finished with 11, including seven solo.

Lowery has never had more than 64 tackles in a season, and those came as a rookie in 2008.

Lowery missed the last three games of the 2013 season for Jacksonville with a concussion.

Lowery was seen cleaning out his locker on Wednesday and his name plate had been removed. He had not played since Week 3.

(10/6/2013) The Jaguars have listed the team's inactives for the Week 5 game at St. Louis. Those inactive players are as follows: Wide receivers Mike Brown (back) and Stephen Burton (concussion); tight end Marcedes Lewis (calf); defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey (concussion); and defensive backs Dwight Lowery (concussion) and Dwayne Gratz (ankle). Quarterback Ricky Stanzi is the team's third quarterback and also inactive for the game. 

All of these players, except Stanzi, were ruled out on Friday's official injury report and were unable to practice much, if at all, during the week leading up to Sunday's game.

Lowery left early with a head injury, and was initially ruled questionable. After further evaluation, he was ruled out for the game.

Lowery was injured on the second play for the Jaguars' defense. He was evaluated and deemed questionable to return.

(12/22/2012) Jacksonville activated linebacker Daryl Smith off injured reserve on Saturday, reports the Florida Times-Union. To make room for Smith, who was out with a groin injury, the Jaguars placed safety Dwight Lowery on injured reserve, ending his season with a foot injury sustained at Miami last week.
