News: Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said defensive linemen Rob Jackson and Chris Wilson will split playing time at the outside linebacker spot after Brian Orakpo was placed on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week. "I think well both get playing time," Wilson told the Washington Post. "Im always up for the challenge. The season is just beginning. ... Im looking forward to it."
Analysis: Wilson has failed to register a tackle during the first two games of the season, but will now be tasked with helping fill the void created by the injury to Orakpo, who led the Redskins in sacks last season. However, the 30-year-old has posted just two sacks since the beginning of the 2008 season. He should not be considered a worthwhile Fantasy option at this point.
News: The Eagles announced that they moved closer to the league-mandated 53 players on the active roster by releasing several players Friday. Among the casualties included LB Rashad Jeanty, S Jamar Wall, WR Rod Harper, DE Chris Wilson, center A.Q. Shipley, TE Cornelius Ingram, FB Stanley Havili, guard Dallas Reynolds, and RB Graig Cooper.
Analysis: None of the aforementioned players were expected to start in 2011, so neither player was an option in Fantasy play. Ignore them until their play suggests otherwise.
News: The Eagles announced Monday that they signed former Redskins LB Chris Wilson to a one-year deal.
Analysis: Wilson totaled 65 tackles, six sacks and three forced fumbles in four seasons with the Redskins. He will provide depth at LB for Philadelphia, but he can be ignored in Fantasy.
News: The Redskins announced Thursday that they have signed LB Chris Wilson. Wilson will be entering his fourth NFL season after originally joining the Redskins as a free agent in 2007. In his three seasons in Washington, Wilson has played in 48 games, registering 41 tackles (27 solo) and five sacks, while seeing action at DE and LB. In 2009, Wilson saw action in all 16 games, accumulating 13 tackles (11 solo) and a sack, while also adding eight (six solo) special teams stops.
Analysis: Wilson has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
News: Redskins DL Chris Wilson opened his 2008 season with a sack Week 1 against the Giants. It took him five games during his rookie season in 2007 to record his first sack.
Analysis: Wilson had four sacks as a rookie and looks to play a bigger role in '08 as the Redskins defensive line has been decimated by injuries. However, he is still nothing more than a backup and has little to no Fantasy value.
News: Washington defensive end Chris Wilson strained his left calf muscle during drills Thursday.
Analysis: Wilson has little to no Fantasy impact, especially in Fantasy drafts, at this point.
News: Redskins DL Chris Wilson recorded two sacks Week 17 against Cowboys, doubling both his season and career total.
Analysis: Four sacks isn't enough to get anyone excited in Fantasy, especially for a defensive lineman. Don't expect Wilson to make much of an impact in the playoffs or on Draft Day 2008.
